*** 2026-27 ISU WBB Season Thread ***

They really went and did that. Audi is likely going to be able to score at will on us.

Otherwise, it doesn't really matter because the high-end expectation for this team is a play-in game.

If we make the tourney I'll consider it a W, 24-25 season is when we snuck in the tourney with a pig wasn't it?

Seriously, I've no idea what to think about that schedule. The league was weak last year and teams had LOTS of turnover so I've no idea at this point who might be good. Still, as weak as our roster is, we are lucky the league is likely to also be weak again. TBT, I am likely to struggle to muster much interest in league play this coming season.

OSU and TCU are portal teams that need to gel like TCU has the last couple of years. Remains to be seen if Molly Miller can move ASU beyond middle of the pack. Baylor is a shadow of it's former self and TT is likely middling. On paper Kansas has HS recruit ranking but needs to do something with it but don't likely have the coach to do so. Might end up being WVU's league.

To add insult to injury this season, the league is likely to be really hyping Audi Crooks. The league lacks any other real "name" star power, be it teams or players. Not much to work with on the PR end with no Top 10 teams and maybe only three ranked.

If I'm Bill, I'm scheduling the Little Sister of the Poor JV squad for as many non-con games as possible. We already have to play Michigan, Iowa, Drake, and UNI. Michigan and Iowa are very likely losses. UNI and Drake are going to be a lot closer than last year.

The goal should be the NCAA tourny, but we should try to set up the schedule otherwise for trying to host the WNIT.

Dude I'd be impressed if we won 15 games....we will more than likely be near the bottom of the Big 12 while we watch Oklahoma State compete for the Big 12 crown.

All because we have a coach who refused to retire when he should've (like 10 years ago).

In three years of playing three teams twice, we've played five teams.
  • UCF (24-25)
  • Kansas (24-25 & 26-27)
  • Kansas State (24-25, 25-26, 26-27)
  • Oklahoma State (25-26 & 26-27)
  • Cincinnati (25-26)
In 25-26 and 26-27, K-State was our last game of the season. For comparison, the men have played seven teams.
