2025 Transfer Options

Unless Toure is ready to go right out of the shoot, I’d prioritize a guy who is able to employ ball pressure like Gilbert. I think that is an extremely underrated part of Keshon’s game, and something we might sorely miss next year.

When haven’t we had good ball pressure under TJ?

We did well on the road against one of the best backcourts with Lipsey, Heise, Milan and a walkon in Cade. Next year will only be better than that. Likely a transfer plus the freshmen

IMO in terms of maintaining ball pressure, it is more important we get better in the frontcourt laterally.

I post this guy cuz he was ex Washington State.
And ISU loved those ex Wazzu guys

In Big Sky he is top 5 in , Points, Minutes, Steals, Assists,

Figure with his great year he will look for a pay day

Is he another Pav that’s better suited for midmajor?

He didn’t do much at WSU, then is that much better a year later?

If you can’t see, or refuse to acknowledge, that Keshon is our best on ball defender, and when he’s up top our defense, in it’s combined entirety, is a hell of a lot better as a matter of course, I can’t help ya.

That’s not the point.

If you can’t understand that, you don’t understand defense or this program

Rohde hasn’t been very good at Virginia. Would hope they can add a better player than him.

+40% 3 pt shooter, near 80%fts, doesn’t take a ton of shots but still puts up 10 pts/game (averages 1.12 pts per shot is not bad if you ask me). 4 assists/game and a 2/1 assist to turnover ratio. 6’6” guard.

This is an efficient player who likely can guard any of the guard/wing positions. This screams to me a TJ player

Dude went off yesterday... also had 40 vs Alabama earlier this year

Given he was top 5 in multiple categories including steals I think he is pretty savvy player that plays D

I’m not sure that’s indicative of whether he can play defense in the Big 12, let alone how much the step up decreases his performance

I’m not saying he can’t, he did play behind several good guards at WSU. And he would be older than Pav.

We may disagree on Rohde as a player I think he'll be a good fit at ISU as a shooter with height and secondary ball handler. Good news all the takes have a good chance to be proven right or wrong in Hilton next year.

Pav was more of a 1 trick pony he could score. This kid performed well against USC and UCLA. Not great teams I know but still high major.
He had a poor game against ASU.

His next game Monday. Take a look if you have time

I have watched him a couple of times. Big 12 would be a step up for sure but he has some intangibles

Anyway speculation only, given Wazzu ties.

This incoming class looks like they can be special. My guess is them and Nojus are the bulk of our bench rotation guys. I think a transfer guard is definitely needed but I think it will be more Jones than Gilbert type.

I’m kinda indifferent on adding a big. Sure it makes sense to have depth but we look really good when Jefferson slides over with Milan or possibly the German at the four. Plus Rock will have another year so maybe he becomes break glass if needed guy much like Watson was this year.

After that Moore or Batemon back up the point. Batemon will definitely get time at the two. I also think Mitchell gives us a Watson type at the three with better skills. Toure probably battles Nojus for the end of the rotation minutes as Heise gets 6th man time.

Just my guess, nothing worth arguing about here.

He's a money ball guy. He's very efficient, good passer and shooter. He will be a good piece, but won't come close to shoring up all our deficiencies caused by attrition. Probably our Jones replacement. Still need to find a Gilbert imo, then a big to replace Chat, but hopefully one with a little more athleticism and high end upside.

The small ball lineup does wonders for our offense, but it absolutely cannot be a permanent solution if we're going to get dominated on the glass like we did against BYU. I hope a big is pursued. I'd prefer it be more in the Hason Ward mold than the Chat/Dishon mold.

Interestingly, on another Cyclone site, a reputable source believes the French kid- will start day 1 at off guard. Maturity /defense/developing O game. Will be interesting to see. If so - the kid is a steal!

Killyan Toure

It would be fantastic if he’s ready early. He’s long and athletic, for sure.
