2025 Transfer Options

Isn't this supposed to be TJ's best recruiting class coming in the door this summer? Let the kids play, it's not like it's unprecedented for freshmen to have a big impact, even at ISU. I'm pumped about X and Batemon bigly.

I agree with the above post though, sure would be nice to have a Kelvin Cato-esque guy at the 5. Rim protection, yes please.

I just mostly want a 6'6 6'7 type athletic dude that can rebound and hit an occasional 3. A Watson like player with an improved shot would be perfect for this roster.

When The Presidents came up after Buchanan committed, I did not want to mention this horrible American president. What he handed over to Lincoln was sinful.

I am hoping we don't go there, "The Presidents."
FWIW, It's not like President Jackson is above criticism in a similar context, quite the opposite.

So it's probably a wash from that standpoint lol.

Don't sleep on Killyan Toure, either. This is an old video to boot. Kid is fast as lightning. Enjoy!

Personally, I'm not a fan of Thomas Jefferson, either. Particularly his duplicity when dealing with George Washington.
Jefferson’s ideas supersede his contributions as President. However, he did complete the Louisiana Purchase which was monumentally important for the history of this country.

Jackson was a POS and Buchanan was just wholly unfit for the position during one of the absolute, most critical time for our nation.

Killyan Toure is a 4 star and a top 100 player (exactly 100) on 247. I think he might be a real candidate to take that 6th man microwave role. But in a more attacking fashion than even CuJo was.

But I don't wanna set the bar too high.

My name is RezClone for a reason.

i.e. Reservation Cyclone.

So you're not gonna get an argument from me on that one. But I'll leave it at that.

That sideline alley-oop was wicked!

This is what I was saying previously...we don't need another transfer guard. Let Toure and Batemon play. I wouldn't be surprised if one of them starts over Williams at the 2.

We certainly don't need another PG. We have Lipsey and two 4 star pups that aren't gonna wanna sit a whole lot, they would absolutely transfer at that point.

I mean, how many legit 4 star kids with PG profiles do we get out of HS? Hunter and Wigginton are the only ones that come to mind, at least recently.

I don't mind mixing them in at the 2, but we also have to keep in mind keeping Tamin off ball at times a little more might be a way to keep him healthy. I like Williams at the wing and please please please give me Rohde in that role too. Our backcourt might be too deep at that point, always a good problem to have.

Being an accurate passer is underrated. So many times I seen it this year where if we'd just thrown a more accurate pass to the middle of the chest instead of off to the side or down by the knees, the chances of making that 3 would have improved. It's kinda like looking down at your feet to make sure you're behind the line. It kills your accuracy.

Pretty sure Killyan can shake n' bake with the best of them on defense. You're not easily gonna fake him.

Another thing I love about Toure is his transition game. That is something we were lacking a bit this year. I think him and Lipsey would combine for a lot of steals and easy buckets.

Meh. Jefferson's main issue with Washington was that he increasingly favored Hamilton's viewpoints. Jefferson and Hamilton rarely agreed on much of anything.

Washington later developed a dislike for Madison and Monroe, for similar reasons.

It does suck but these kids, who the schools have been generating obscene amounts of revenue off of, have been getting screwed for a long time.
Look at The Fab Five for instance and the millions the school made off their brand while they got nothing out of it, legally at least. This was a long time coming and now it's essentially a pro sport, sad for college bball purists but it was inevitable.
I get it. Some monetary compensation was needed.

I wouldn’t say “They got nothing out of it” previously.

I remember a number of years ago reading or watching something about the Syracuse basketball team and their lifestyle while at school.

NIL went from Zero to a Million miles per hour in a very short time. It’s like the Wild West. Is this current model sustainable?

Even pro sports have better guidelines for agents and contracts and such. Salary Caps, etc. D-1 college athletes have it very good. So good it’s more profitable for a lot of them to play D1 sports instead of being a professional. Think about that for a minute.

Take your presidential discussions to political/somewhere else thread. Thank you.

The wild west part is largely because college sports is doing all they can to avoid calling them employees.

If and when they are considered employees, the can unionize, collectively bargain, pool union dues so they can hold out, go on strike, etc. There's also an increased liability component that would come into play that can cut both ways.
