Beans are done and emerging. I finally got 200 acres of corn in the ground last night. Was nice to get started and get everything set. Mist this morning and a track meet today. Need 4 good days to get corn done.

Our 1st beans just started to come up yesterday.

Today here, possible they were up yesterday but given they were just cracking I think it was today.

Thought a neighbor cultivated the outside row of my corn, thankfully it was just a little extra dirt thrown on top of that row. Planted pretty much on the property line at points though.

I thought the guy that planted 1st was the one that gets to crowd the line.;)

My uncle made me measure from the few posts that remain to plant guidelines so he stayed firmly on our side. Given how much the neighbor drifted they clearly didnt.

Drove to central Iowa Friday. A lot of corn up south of DSM. Spent the last two days in Hamilton & Story county. Saw plenty of corn up.

Too tacky today. Looks like the coming week will finish up planting in our area. Filled a pen of feeder cattle on 4-7@ nose bleed price. Failed to fill another pen last week at even higher level. Lot’s of optimism in cattle country when grass turns green & the grills fire up.

Yes, cattle feeding is a high roller deal these days. But what do you want to do, just sit at home on the iPad when you could be on your hands and knees in **** working on a waterer?

(I bought some last week too.)

Should be a big week for us in NC Iowa Planning on finishing with the Disc work and corn planting by Tuesday, plant beans for the rest of the week, spray beans Friday and Saturday in time to be done for Mother’s Day. Some corn popping through in the neighbors fields, ours is getting close to coming up

Picked rock today, going to start tillage on fields tomorrow driest to wettest and go from there.
For those of you bringing in pens of feeder cattle are you finishing them or putting some gain on and reselling? If finishing are you selling on the grid, auction another way?
