2025 field work

Corteva varieties in central Iowa are getting eaten by GLS as well.
I was told to keep an eye on 9955 Pioneer. I wasn't going to spray mine and try to take it to town for an early harvest premium, but was told that number is really suspectible to NLB, so I sprayed it with fungicide

The last couple years in beans. Prowl H2O&lexon. Any pre, plus more Lexon. RR and enlist 2-4-D. Then if we have to, Liberty. I use $60 chemical corn cash flow. $75 for beans. Then we can add fungicides and biological goodies.

Haven't seen the GLS here, then again we typically choose varieties that are better against it in general.

Seeing southern rust on all 3 of the companies we use. That said, last year it was a couple of DeKalb products that just died early when it came on strong late last year(108-64 being most noticeable)
We got southern rust bad last year particularly in DeKalb. Hoping it doesn’t come in bad this year but people are saying they’re seeing it.

Hypothetical for you folks. Cost is not an issue, what’s the best possible corn pre tank mix to control Palmer/waterhemp? $200/A, I don’t care. What’s the best of the best?
Tillage, heavy acetochlor and atrazine. Spike in some cheap Callisto. Spray your corn post on timing, not corn stage, and have dicamba in the tank.

Bayer has a new waterhemp chemical coming out next year. Hopefully that helps but it won’t be widely available.

Man, you folks are in the middle of a big chemistry experiment. I don't envy your work environment.

Yep, great stuff. Pricey though.
We used it for the 1st time last year. Like using it on field that I have both crops in. And also don't have the carryover in the corners from Sonic that would stunt the corn the following year

50% lost already this year? I’m my area almost no insecticides have been sprayed on the crops yet and that article was PUBLISHED in June.
This isn't the first year for insecticide use is it? This has been an ongoing problem. In addition, fugicides are showing an additive effect to pesticide impact. While fungicides are not typically designed to target insects, they can negatively impact bees, both directly and indirectly. Some fungicides, like captan and mancozeb, can be directly toxic to bees, causing mortality upon contact. Other fungicides can have sublethal effects, harming bees through changes in development, behavior, immune health, or reproduction. Neonicotinoids are really bad actors.

Saw my first drone sprayer today. That thing was small ... like I've never heard that before.

We’ve had really good look with Resicore @ 1.75qt/acre. Acetochlor, Callisto and Stinger. Add 2/3# of ATZ and glyphosate. We’ve actually been doing a one pass post with this for years and had great results.

What’s been your timing with this?
