NBA: *** 2025-26 NBA Thread ***

Why are so many people tearing their Achilles now? I remember Dan Marino doing it when I was a kid and it seemed almost unheard of at the time.
Tyrese's still gives me nightmares.

Honestly if I had to guess it seems like theres more step back/jab type of shots in the NBA now. Its like James Harden revolutionized it and maybe people have copied it because its successful but also it can stress your ligaments.

I’d guess overtraining is a huge reason. The human body can only take so much.

what happens for the next game? there is no way in hell they don't let Jokic play.

This will be what they do, I don't think anyone threw a punch. But it'd be funny if they pick some random benchwarmer to suspend.

My theory is all the advancements over the years to optimize training have the effect of building and refining muscle, but it can't really do the same for tendons and ligaments. So the stronger muscles and larger strain the athlete puts on them becomes more than the tendons and ligaments can handle. I haven't looked into whether this has any validity, it's just guess lol.

Everyone out here were calling the chicken nuggets the next dynasty. (lol). You need to win more than 1 title to even start to a conversation like that, maybe win something like 17 to be considered a dynasty. Go Lakers:)

What I’ve read is there’s been a ton of focus on quad strength, which does help knee ligament and tendon injuries, but there isn’t nearly as much focus on calf strength development.

really weak sauce by the joker IMO. who ******* cares about a layup at the end of game 4. if you are going to take it that personally, then dont stop playing and expect the other team to also stop playing. its fake tough guy BS.
