***2025-26 CFB Coaching Carousel***

It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if Michigan contacted him months ago knowing they’d have to make a coaching change at the end of the season with what the AD knew. I don’t know if Utah pushed him out as much as both parties realized he did all he was going to do for that university and it was time for a change.

If Moore could keep it in his pants, I still don’t think Wittingham is coaching at Utah next season. But I think he would have actually retired if it weren’t for the already established program offering him a chance to win right now.
Yeah this 100% didn’t happen

Can you post what you’re reading? It’s not what’s been linked apparently
Fans and others inside the organization wanted to move on to the young upstart coach. How were they being loyal to Whittingham?

Where are you getting the word “fans” from? Harlan and others inside the AD, including the new private equity setup, I would imagine.

Now you're just being obtuse.

The truth is out there if you do your research.

BVD used to post in ISU message boards. You think JP didn’t read game threads to keep his finger in the pulse of the fan?

Awfully suspicious JP had Rogers ready-to-announce when Campbell first addressed the team. It was almost as if Pollard knew Campbell was leaving before Campbell did.

Michigan and PSU are scandal-plagued, upper echelon Big 10 teams with seemingly incompetent ADs.

Whittington is leaving a program that beat Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.

Campbell is leaving a program that beat Alabama in the Indepedence Bowl.

Open your eyes.

Articles said those within the organization. And if you followed Utah football, you would know their fans were ready to move on last year.

So where is the loyalty to Whittingham? Seems to me they all quit on him. So there isn’t any loyalty. Which is why the whole discussion of Campbell not being loyal was silly

I lived in Utah and know Utah fans. He went 10-2 this year. Random people here were willing to move on from Campbell after a bad year as well. Doesn’t mean the fan base turned.

I see. So loyalty for fans to a coach only happens when the team wins, even though the coach has a 20 year proven track record

Sorry. The whole loyalty discussion a few weeks ago was pure nonsense. As in this

But were fans looking to move on. Or were they just following lock-step with Whittingham expressing an interest to move on?

There were rumblings Whittingham was thinking of retiring back in 2024. And having "a coach in waiting" sounds like a good idea from a continuity standpoint. But IMO it creates an expectation the Head Coach has a timeline for stepping down.

This was your comment. I’ve not seen anything to back this sentiment. I’ve seen the opposite. Maybe you forgot what you wrote.

And yes, have you been here at all? Some. Some fans, will turn pretty quickly.

People here were complaining about loyalty a couple weeks ago. This is nothing compared to what Whittingham has just done to Utah fans

That’s my whole point!! Fans expect loyalty from players and coaches yet as soon as they don’t perform to expectations fans quickly turn on them.

See the irony??
