Per their own rules, the CFP committee should remove Mississippi from the playoffs. The committee did this to Florida State due to their QB being injured. Losing your head coach (along with) other coaching staff is more detrimental than losing your QB . Won't happen though.

I can almost hear the committee now, "It wouldn't be fair to the student athletes to punish them after a successful year because of a coaching staff change."

Like it was fair FSU got the whammy because of one student athlete being injured.

hes a supreme POS. i hope he never coaches in the playoffs.

if you want to coach your players in the playoffs, then honor the contract you signed and wait until after the season is over to move on. naming the AD as the reason you cant coach the playoffs is complete BS. this is nobody's fault but kiffin's.

Yep Florida dropped one spot out of the top 4. If there was a 12 team playoff they still would have been in. Ole miss will drop but in a 12 team they won’t drop all the way out

They should drop out of the top 12, especially since it sounds like most of the offensive coaching staff is leaving with him.

This **** is so funny to watch. All of the have nots in the SEC (Arkansas, Kentucky, Ect.) are starting to realize that some of them are going to have to go sub .500 every year. Changing coaches isn't going to fix it. Should have thought this through before voting to take the bag and make a super conference.

Yeah I get you want it, but if they drop the same amount of places as FSU then it’s a fair call.

Also while the FSU call was stupid it was ultimately the right one, every since that QB went down program has been rough

Bailing on your team who will make the CFP to go to LSU to build a team to try and make the CFP and then throw a fit because your old team who you quit on won’t let you coach in the CFP is peak college athletics right now.

In the portal era you want a current coach so that you can grab the existing players to smooth the transition process. This doesn’t get you that. Plus his record is in the big ten west which doesn’t count. He also isn’t going to engage the fan base

The one thing that is different is this Tulane coach will have about 2 years to produce. Year 3 is a warning shot and year 4 he will get fired.
Some coaches are ok with staying away from that. Others could care less.
One thing that sucks for us is the perception of the big 12 and acc. Along with the money differences moving forward.
Will that affect CMC ability to recruit, etc? Kind of hope the playoffs expand to 16 so the big12 can get two teams in. Probably an easier path that way than finishing top 3-4 big 10.
