wait I thought CMC was going to Arkansas according to their fans
I saw a post on bulletin board in post office that CMC is going to South Florida and that the whole reason Golesch moved was to open a spot for him.

Seriously, I am glad Golesch is not Big XII - he would be a problem but not glad for him going to hillbilly hell.

To me, it seemed like Oklahoma State and Arkansas were both going after the North Texas guy. With OSU getting him, seems like this is Arkansas second choice.

What’s interesting, and Blum has said this, but an ability for a program to invest in NIL has shot up to the top of priorities for coaches. Arkansas has more budget to work with due to their Media deal, but looks like OSU is willing to pay more for NIL. Interesting to see which schools have their stuff straightened out and those that don’t on the NIL front.

Though not likely, its possible they may both be disappointed. Two out of LSU, Florida and Ole Miss are going to be disappointed when Lane announces his decision.
Tulane coach has to backfill one of those but I totally agree.

Oklahoma booster telling me a lot of smoke for CMC to Arky.

I say hooey

Goes against everything I know to be true.

There’s still chatter Golesh hasn’t signed. Which could well mean only the AD knows he signed. Campbell’s earned the right to do whatever he wants, but climbing the rough side of the mountain in the SEC means you won’t even sniff the conference championship game. would be perplexing

Pretty much my take.

Except, please clarify this Golesh chatter.

Only which AD knows? ISU or USF?

I’m on Basketball Brain right now.

There are media people saying they can’t confirm that Golesh has signed the dotted line. I’m saying just because there’s no official announcement doesn’t mean Arkansas’ AD doesn’t already know it’s official

Oh ok.

So you’re saying Golesh to Arkansas but he may have signed at USF unannounced, keeping the Arky search open?

Is that following correctly?

I’m saying Golesh may have signed at Arkansas but only a few people know. Maybe Trey Schaap is one of those few, or maybe he’s 90% sure and just went for it. Almost none of this “news” is coming from reporters with major outlets, so grains of salt all the way down. Virtually all others are saying they can’t confirm Golesh has signed, but again, that’s only good as far as it goes. I don’t think I’ve seen any today dispute that Golesh is a target and may be in negotiations. It could also be an Arkansas leak because Golesh is interested but wants to wait and see what happens with Florida, Auburn, LSU, and maybe Ole Miss

These coaches salaries are out of control. When a middling program like Mizzou is paying over $10 million something is very wrong.
They are put of control but I also realize we're going to have to pay CMC more.
Like we've got to try and get him close to some of these. Not meet or exceed, just close.

I could be delusional given the past. I don’t think he cares a ton about money anymore. You get to a point when you are that high of earner (I’m sure, not speaking from experience) where money doesn’t matter as much. He elected to make less so his boys can get paid. Not sure he would have that mindset had it always been about money.

He’s obviously fine with making less but the delta can’t be 50% less. We are going to have to pay him more, in addition to staff and players.

Or both. If I were Lane, I would stay @ Ole Miss and keep building a legacy.
I kind of think he has to leave at this point. Any mediocre to bad season and this saga will continuously be brought up against him. Then again I don't think he cares about a legacy, at least not at Ole Miss.

The last figures I checked for 2023-24 were OSU having 50 percent more contributions than Arkie to the AD.
