***2025-26 CFB Coaching Carousel***

That’s because of the new transfer rules not needing people to sit out. With that it’s now the new norm

Edit* only if the program is an upgrade
There should have always been a rule that if your head coach leaves you can transfer and not have to sit out. I would even extend that to if the assistant who was your primary recruiter leaves.

In regards to Urban, is the only job
he'd take Notre Dame if Freeman were to get poached?

If I'm Penn State I'm calling Lane Kiffin. I've been pretty impressed by how much he has matured over the last few years. He the perfect type of coach to have in this era. I think he's a pretty intelligent guy in general.
Lane to me is a more successful Tom Herman.
Lane can be a doosh but can coach, unlike MENSA.

I havent listened to Travis Justice in a long time but he had a kid at Ole Miss, and so he followed them, and I think he said Mississippi has some funky laws with coaching salaries/contracts that does make it tough to keep a successful one there.

With the way the B1G is splitting above the B12, it would be insane not to, barring an unbeatable love for Ames and ISU. From a career standpoint, it's 110% of time the correct move.
Same could had been said for the Southern Cal job.

Seems like he made the right decision to stay

I used to loathe the guy, but the more interviews I've seen with him the last few years I really like him. He's an intelligent human being in general, and not just a football guy. I also think he's grown up a lot in the last 5 years and learned from his mistakes. He's sober now and it sounds like his drinking problem was worse than anyone really knew. I admire and respect people who learn from their past mistakes and become better people. People think he's arrogant and cocky but the more I see interviews with him I disagree. I think he's pretty humble and actually has a lot of humility.

I'm not sure PSU ever gets in that situation unless they end up on probation. There is a ton of HS football talent in that state. I can't imagine a situation where they are worse than .500 consistently.
Get what you are saying, but Solich and Pelini were .700 coaches.

You know who doesnt fit in where they're at?
Brian Kelly.
I was shocked when he left ND. So I shouldn't be shocked if he'd reach out to PS.
