I'm not sure if that self-serving nepotistic dart-throw would work or not, but that came off really cringy to me.

Rick's quotes read as a guy that walks into a party where he wasn't invited, awkwardly and loudly suggests that they should do meth and, when nobody responds, goes "Well, I'll just be over here if anyone wants some."
