***2025-26 CFB Coaching Carousel***

So….where does this leave PSU? Not a lot of names out there at the level they think they’re at. And unfortunately, the school that does eventually lose their coach to them has to go out and find a replacement this late in the cycle. Hope the ADs are keeping their short list up to date. It’ll be a mad scramble for someone.

I’m happy to see coaches be more willing to stay, even if it costs their schools more. I hope this will make ADs think twice about a quick trigger and let more coaches work it out.

Brian Hartline
Brian Daboll
Manny Diaz
Matt Campbell

Almost all of the positions that have been filled so far are the southern jobs filled by southern coaches that PSU didn't have much interest in (they'd have taken Kiffin of course but I doubt they even kicked the tires on that much given his preference to stay in the SEC)

I really thought that Drinkwitz would have the PSU or Florida job right now. Either he really likes it at Mizzou or he's not nearly as in demand as I figured he'd be. He was never even rumored to be connected to the PSU job which I found strange.

If I had to bet money on who I think the next PSU coach will be, I think it'll be Hartline. Just brings a ton of upside with his recruiting ability but he would definitely need to nail the coordinator hires.

From what I’ve seen, a lot of their fans seem to want Hartline.

Didn't Drinkwitz just sign an extension to stay at Mizzou? I don't think he's going anywhere.

I agree with both of you.

Campbell is the perfect hire at PSU, and Josh Pate should shut the **** about it.
Might be Matt's turn to play the game, if he hasn't already said "thanks but no thanks" which Pate doesn't even entertain as a possibility.

As an ignorant rube with absolutely no inside information this is the most worried I’ve been about losing Campbell.

In my (ignorant) opinion it is the best fit for him in a “P2” job.
