For the Penn State job, here are the candidates I think could take the job.

Matt Rhule
Lane Kiffin
Dan Mullen
Pat Fitzgerald
Eli Drinkwitz

I think Fitzgerald will end up at Wisconsin (when the job opens) or Nebraska if Rhule goes to Penn State.

Curious why you think Pat Fitzgerald is a candidate for the PSU job but Matt Campbell isn't

If Lane Kiffin was interested he should be their #1 pick.

But I like the job Drinkwitz has done at Mizzou. Pretty exciting offense that still leans on the run. And have been impressed with their defense this year- they fly to the ball and hit.

I could see Campbell getting a bit sick of the grind that is ISU recruiting, but he is also a guy that likes to tinker and not be forced into winning the national championship or have the fans hate you. Leaning no but with the current NIL situation being under privileged has to grind at him a bit.

Penn St insiders in the CFB podcast sphere seem to think it will be Rhule (though none of them want it to be Rhule)

If it were me I'd go after Missouri's coach, he's good at building a program and is a pretty good recruiter.

I think Florida gives Kiffin an offer he can't refuse

I think Auburn takes Tulane's coach

I think Wisconsin asks Campbell but if he says no maybe Dan Mullen?

If Kiffin leaves Ole Miss, maybe Oregon's OC Stein?

If Rhule leaves Nebraska, maybe Campbell. If he says no, I'd pick James Franklin (this will never happen)

If North Carolina opens up, James Franklin would be my choice there was well.

I think Wisconsin is going to throw the world at Leipold

yeah could be, I didn't think about him

Pretty decent chance Oklahoma is looking for a new coach too and I have no idea where they'd go. Doesn't seem to be any obvious candidates (Dykes?)

Dykes might be job hunting this off-season whether he wants too be or not

Lane makes entirely too much sense at FL and could be their Spurrier 2.0

His next game is huge. If he loses again to K-State I don't see him making a bowl for the 2nd straight year. He could have peaked 2 years ago. I think he needs to have a good year this year for anyone to really be interested in him.
