New 2026 Big Board out by MatScouts. Army WP has 6 guys in the top 115 committed and they just lost their head coach.
I'd imagine if you went through the extensive requirements to get accepted into Army, you aren't backing out because of this. Whoever takes over as the next head coach should have a good head start on a solid wrestling team.
I'd never want Metcalf to leave and I hope he's in line for the next HC job. But man if the Army job doesn't scream Brent Metcalf. If he wanted to jump at a HC job right away, that would be a great hire for them. Financially it might be a step backwards though
No, it just sounds like a great fit if he wanted to be a head coach right away. Which I hope he doesn’t. I just know he will make a great head coach when he decides to go that direction.

Now why would he do that? Honestly does Minny have better training partners for him at his weight? Is there a path to the mat earlier than what he expects here?
