***2024 Week 1 Games Thread***

Does FSU have to win out the rest of the way now for Norvell to keep his job?
No way. The dude did go undefeated last year, and even FSU isn’t that stupid. Now if they only win 2 games or fewer that’s a different story, but they will still end up bowl eligible in the end and he will be back.

The only caveat is if Prime calls them up and says he wants the job. Then it gets interesting.

Wow. This game is just about over after that 3rd down conversion...

I think you are probably right, but with the expectations at FSU, I would think his seat is getting awful uncomfortable.

He probably is safe for another year like you said, but I dont know if they give him much more if he doesnt get things back on track.

They have lost to GT and BC, recent year doormats in the ACC. And have a lot of others on the schedule that are going to be difficult. Hell the way they are playing I would be pretty nervous playing Memphis next.

270 rushing yards for BC?!?! Yikes for FSU; that's worse than DJ's QB play.

I mean not saying people would ever turn down the Florida State job, but you don’t want to be known as a program who will run a coach out a year after an undefeated season. They had won 19 straight games until the bowl game last year (and again that was a loss to arguably the best team last year, yes I think Georgia would have beaten Michigan, with almost no starters playing) so really to me two losses to start the year would be the start of how to judge this skid.

I don’t know, if he loses a couple more of these I don’t think he gets another year, FSU is an insane program that thinks they are Sabans bama

I’m pretty sure Campbell turned them down at least one time.

This isn’t entirely true with the no harm part, especially now with the perception and beauty contest for at-large bids.
It still doesn't make much difference though. FSU (0-2) is going to drop out of the rankings this week. They shouldn't even get a single vote.
