Nah man, it’s FCS, even in the down years you don’t lose to G5 or FCS teams. Think the last time was about 14-15 years ago for sparty

The talent disparity between any decent P4 team and the FCS is night and day.
Over the course of a season, likely right. But give these teams the whole summer to prepare for the first game of the year and they have the talent to beat a lot of FBS schools

And MSU hasn't been decent so they'd have a hard time against them.

ISU has been OK/decent and I wouldn't trust that matchup at all.

UCF is blowing out New Hampshire. I was curious about former Cyclone commit Xavier Townsend, he really hasn't done much for the Knights.

SDSU & NDSU teams are consistently ranked in the top 25 of almost any metric.
Yeah man. Just like anything, there's levels to this s***. NDSU is no joke.

Now if they are playing Georgia, ok lump away my guy, they are just another FCS team.

But NDSU playing just about anyone else? Well over half of P4 teams would be a better shake, if you're looking for a lay up game.

Edit: of course they would be in our backyard, and of course we would have to explain this to the rest of the country. Life as a Cyclone.

Nah you guys would be fine with Campbell. And again even when bad sparty doesn’t lose to FCS or G5. You guys only lost due to the flu outside of that the talent level is just completely different. Colorado is a really bad team with horrific coaching, that’s why this is so embarrassing.

Iowa State has played multiple close games with UNI in the Campbell era…

Goofers have a chip shot FG attempt (20-25yd) and the on screen graphic shows the UM Kicker's name and the fact that he was the B1G "kicker of the year" last year. He proceeds to doink it off the right goal post - no good! That was AWESOME!!! Not a fan of UNC, but I am SOOOO pulling for B1G and SEC teams to lose as many non-con games as possible.

ISU may win but CMC has struggled with UNI several times.

A good Iowa team lost to NDSU a few years ago.

They're a very solid program with lots of confidence.

Its also important to note NDSU is a through a few coaches since their dominant run. They're still a good program, but this isn't the same NDSU as when Carson Wentz was there. That said, the scholarship advantage FCS schools have isn't as much of a factor in week 1 as it would be week 10 so its not shocking to see some of these FCS teams hang.

But did you lose those games? Sure they can be close because the team doesn’t take them seriously but what matters is the win. Colorado might still pull this off just from having superior talent but getting run over like this on defense is a horrible look

“Good Iowa Team” is an oxymoron, did they even put up 20 points? When you have no offense you can lose to anyone

UNI is a bit of a different situation. The motivation factor is much higher with an in-state school full of guys with a chip on their shoulder from not getting an offer (and who, more often than not, also likely grew up hating ISU to begin with).

How many FCS playoff level teams has MSU played in that time? FCS is no different than FBS where there is a distinguishable gap between the top several teams and everyone else. Add in that the FCS teams are pumped up to play those games and the FBS teams often come out a bit flat and they can beat a lot of teams.

On a similar note, I’m also putting money down on SDSU against Ok State. OSU is way overrated.
