The Chiles thing is despicable. The athletes have agreed to share. It's happened before including when judges were ******* bribed. IOC wants it stripped anyway. Medals have only been stripped for doping and cheating which Jordan didn't do. It's straight up racism.

It's ok to think it's dumb to take her bronze medal. You're an idiot if you think they're trying to take her medal away because she's black.

Yikes. It seems pretty cut and dry. You have 1 minute to get the appeal in. They didn’t do it. That’s hardly racism.

It’s been a bad deal all around.

Let's not play dumb. First time it's stripped for this reason? Other athletes get 3 minutes to request. They had 1 because they went last and "apparently" missed by 4 seconds. And there was a scoring error. The mom of the other athlete has been stoking racist outcry and comments on Jordan's socials all week.

Everyone else in the rotation. Everyone else gets until the score of the next person in the rotation has their score posted. Chiles was last. There is no big inquiry clock. It's from when the judge "notes" the time the score was posted.

Precedent would be to award two bronzes.

In the 400m hurdles they showed how McLaughlin-Levrone hurdles speed would've been 7th at the last Olympics in the regular 400m, kind of crazy. Not knowing anything about track I figured that alone would have them winning it pretty easy.

that's crazy.

Is it fair to say that if she competed in the 400m, she'd be the favorite?

3 things:

Rowing is legitimate and canoeing is not. Pains me to say canoeing is not. Rowing has been in the Olympics for a long time though, it’s a legitimate medal.

Spo or Lue for head coach. Since the bronze medal NBA players have been bought in and Kerr can do nothing except manage personalities. Lebron might have a bigger impact on getting people bought in than people realize. But Kerr’s rotations last summer were so trash it’s hard to look past.

And C: we may or may not lose the gold medal count on the last day of the Olympics but let’s see where it stands in a year. Seems like maybe some drug tests could modify results, it has happened before in the Olympics and for some specific Chinese swimmers that were part of the gold medal 4x1 freestyle team.

Not entirely apples-to-apples (block start vs flying start), but the winning time in the 400 this year was 48.17 -- an Olympic record.

Syd ran a 47.71 split in the relay.
