No, they are really good with a roster full of NBA players. He is probably the last guy on the bench.Melvin wasn't in the box score for Canada. Is he hurt?
It wasn’t, it didn’t, it‘s just people finding something to complain about. Can someone who cares explain how the “recreation” of DaVinci’s The Last Supper mocked Christianity? I don’t get the meltdown over it.

It was a bacchanalian party, you know, with Dionysus, the Greek god of wine and revelry. With the Greeks starting the Olympics and all. I mean, come on, I’m pretty sure DaVinci didn’t include this dude in “The Last Supper.”

Yup. Ten of the twelve on the roster are NBA.The game was never quite out of reach and he’s not in top 9ish player rotation sadly. Their roster is comparable to a very good nba team.
assuming it's because of the war much like Wimbledon did a couple years ago I think it's a little ridiculous. Lot of countries do terrible things. How you choose what countries to penalize their athletes? Then furthermore you allow individual sport athletes to compete but not team sports. Kind of odd stance in my opinion. I get it if you disagreeNo it’s not.
(speaking from someone who is a Christian but has grown tired of the bull****) Christians treat just about everything minutely related to Christianity as a holy relic and its sanctity must be protected, and the "mockery" of such holy relics is Satanic and must be whined about incessantly on the internet, including "if Islam were treated in such a fashion the libs would lose their minds."
And you wonder why I said in the parentheses above that I've grown tired of the bull****. Worse, my wife's parents are progenitors of such mentality. Fortunately, my wife has been growing tired of the bull**** as well.
In a sense it is, but players literally just got done with FIFA-endorsed regional events (Euro, Copa America, etc) which teams from FIFA-endorsed leagues were obligated to let their players play in. What's FIFA going to do - force the teams to let their players play in yet another FIFA-sponsored event? These teams pay their players a ****-ton of money and every time their players play in one of these events they risk them getting injured. I'm sure the teams are willing to risk that for something they won't benefit from.
Generally I agree with you. I thought this was in poor taste, personally.(speaking from someone who is a Christian but has grown tired of the bull****) Christians treat just about everything minutely related to Christianity as a holy relic and its sanctity must be protected, and the "mockery" of such holy relics is Satanic and must be whined about incessantly on the internet, including "if Islam were treated in such a fashion the libs would lose their minds."

Because the Olympic committee making this judgment while allowing countries that are committing genocide and other atrocities to compete seems a bit inconsistent. I won't expand any further or this will probably need to be moved to the cave.Expand...
F around and find out, also this isn't the winter games where Russia has a greater impact.
And the athletes can still compete just not under the Russian flag. Not the first time this has happened
Don’t know if you saw the game, but pretty interesting they’re bringing Murray off the bench. I don’t know if it’s cause he’s not 100% or they want a spark off the bench.I’d have voted for Jokic again, but the many who voted SGA mvp had great reason to. He’s possibly the best in the world right now. He’s probably the favorite to win MVP next year. Then they’re crazy deep behind him including Murray who has hit as many big game shots as anybody in the Olympics other than Steph and LBJ.
Who knows how it will shake out but on paper it’s the most stacked opponent the US has faced in the Olympics if/when they meet. At guard they may be > USA. The wings are comparable. Inside the US has an advantage even if Embiid/Davis have injury questions.
I‘m trying to get up early (pacific time) to watch them vs Jokic/Serbia tomorrow morning.
For American taste, yes, probably. However, this is in France, and the French (and Europeans in general) are far less prudish than Americans.Generally I agree with you. I thought this was in poor taste, personally.
That said, my reaction was more “that’s stupid” and then I never gave it a second thought until just now.
It takes a lot of skill. Too bad you can't see that.Synchronized diving is dumb.
Agree with the poor taste part.Generally I agree with you. I thought this was in poor taste, personally.
