I wonder if they were planning on re-signing him until Tyrese’s injury and they figured no need to enter tax territory on a wasted year.

Turner isn’t irreplaceable, but that would be a nice piece for 2026-27 when Tyrese is back.
Also to the Bucks? There aren't a lot of options that do what he does, and none they’ll be able to get. They’ve got a year to figure that out now. I do wonder what other moves they make, if any.

100% this. Next year is time to see if Walker can take the step to being a solid contributor. Team still needs to find a 5 though.

Seinfeld has the classic bit about how we're all just cheering for laundry.

The Bucks waiving Lillard and signing Turner is a great example of that, the Bucks players have had a visible hatred for Indiana the past few years and Lillard was a driver of it. Turns out...nope don't need our hero but we need that evil villain Pacer.

I'm not sure about his overall game, but Walker was LIGHTING IT UP from three in the final two months of regular season games. I think he'd have had a "surprise" moment in later playoff games if healthy, he had the one playoff game against the Bucks where he went of from 3 before the injury.

Yeah, his monthly splits show a lot to be intrigued by. Only 7 (regular season) games in April, but he had highs in points, rebounds, and assists, while shooting over 50% from three. He's got a lot of potential, and he'll certainly get the opportunity next season.

Turner played poorly in the finals, but he was really good most of the season for the Pacers. I don’t see him being nearly as good for the Bucks. Turner’s career benefited greatly by playing with Tyrese. The Pacers will need to find a stretch 5 prior to Tyrese’s return. That may not be easy.

They don’t need another player standing around the perimeter. They have a whole roster full of players like that. They need a disruptor center like Robinson for NY. Maybe 2 of them.

Both their backup centered went down with season ending injuries in the first week. Are either of those 2 an option?

Fascinating offseason already. Wild how the CBA really ended up crushing potential dynasties and then you throw in season ending injuries to tyrese, dame, and tatum.

SGA going to be making $80m a year, while half his roster will be making minimums.

Hopefully Monte can squeeze in another year, I was worried he might be done.
