And even then wasnt considered the best QB in the league. It wasnt until 2010ish tje people started comparing him to Manning. The Patriots defense stole the show. The guy had 3 titles before he even made an all pro team.

At the time that assessment was correct.

Brady was an above average "game manager" type at first.

Don't make mistakes. Do what you need to do. Let the running game and defense win for you.

It wasn't until 2007 when he got Moss that he found another couple gears.

From then on he was rightfully considered an elite QB until basically his retirement.

Hes was phenomenal. I was more of the guy that said Manning needed to win more big games before he got the credit he was getting. Winning games is all that matters. I dont anticipate Mahomes will ever duplicate the numbers he had his first 3 seasons nor do I give a ****. Allen and Lamar can take the individual hardware. I just want titles.

Feel terrible for Hali today. His worst nightmare came true

With that said, and a bit of a different topic, NBA playoffs are way too long. The Pacers played their final regular season game on April 13. Playoffs should not take over 2 months to complete.

Pacers played 23 additional games, or another 28% season worth of games. This extra strain will lead to more and more injuries. The same principle applies to the NHL as well

I would propose this change:
Conference first round: best of 3
All other rounds: best of 5

Pacers would had played 15 playoff games instead of 23 with this structure. 8 games may not sound like much, but it’s about a 35% reduction in the number of playoff games.

But the reason this won’t happen is a drop of revenues. And the league would never approve this structure because of these lower revenues
Yes, and they seem to head for more games, not less. See MLB, NFL, etc.

the pig tournament added a few games to nba actually, I think 6 games total and like 4-5 days to fit them in.

Taking two days between some games isn’t new. It’s probably more the pig plus game 7 making it late June vs typical mid/early June.

You can have your opinions on him or anyone else. Also projecting love and empathy, holding back on negativity (or too much of it), is a good thing.
I dont even know what youre talking about. It sucks what happened to Hali. Doesn't mean the Thunder weren't a great team, or there was some conspiracy to help them win. Thats what the thread evolved into last night. Plain and simple. Yeah I get it that most people here were rooting for Indy but ffs OKC had a hell of a season. They were humble in victory. Wtf else could you want? Should OKC cancel the victory parade cause Haliburton got hurt?

Maybe go post about how great Oklahoma City is on a ******* Oklahoma City board and let Iowa State fans (who by and large are supportive of Tyrese) have their moment on here. No one cares that you are a Thunder fan.

The Patriots had the 6th-ranked offense in 2001 and 4th in 2004 (12th ranked offense for the 2003 title). D was ranked 6th in 2001, 1st in 2003, and 2nd in 2004.

You all have a great misunderstanding of how Tom Brady or those Pats teams were perceived back then. He was 3rd in MVP voting in 2003 and was widely considered one of the top QBs in the league.

Yeah well you didn't seem to give 2 ***** about David Montgomery playing for the Lions a few years ago. I got ripped for rooting for the Lions against the 49ers in that game. Just stop with the self ritcheous ISU ********. I mean how many of these former players move back to Ames?

Halliburton’s injury probably somewhat mutes their victory no matter what. It’s not that they don’t deserve the trophy, but everyone is going to wonder what would have happened if he hadn’t gotten injured. Certainly not the way I would have wanted to win if I were them…

I don't care who you cheer for. I just don't think you have to be an ******* about it on an Iowa State board. Go post on chiefs fanatics or thunder fanatics.

It likely prevented Indy from having a real chance. However OKC was the best team in the league all year and were at home. In 5 years when you look down and see OKC Thunder 2025 NBA champions only ISU and Pacers fans will remember Haliburton got hurt. If Karl Malone can shoot a ******* free throw the Jazz beat the Bulls in 1998 buy nobody remembers that

Thats cool but we need to distinguish which boards are for people wanting honest conversations and which boards are for cult members.

I mean, if Indy wins game 4 (as they should have), maybe Indy wins in 6…and Haliburton and the Pacers begin next year as one of the favorites.

Again, not saying OKC wasn’t deserving, but everyone will wonder what if…

That’s not what Bill Simmons or Zach Lowe think. And I’m going to go out on a limb and say they know way more about the NBA than you do.

The "what if" certainly isn't helped by him immediately torching them for 9 points on 3/4 deep threes midway through the first.
