The Des
Interesting. Didn't realize the controversy with that.
Right? If a QB drops to his knees while running with no contact, he's clearly giving himself up, regardless of which direction his feet are pointing. Pretty obvious call, but they botched it.

But if that defender hit the QB on that play, you better believe the WSU coach would’ve been asking for a penalty.

I'm still learning about this so thanks for the heads up on some of the ins and outs of this. With Tua returning (I suppose NFL rules might be different though), he needs to have a plan for what to do himself to try not to get another concussion.

WTF, Cincinnati. Just kick the PAT.

Yeah, what's going on with that?
There’s a new idea based on analytics that if you’re down 14 late in the game and you score a touchdown, you should go for 2. If you get it, you’ll win the game with another touchdown and PAT assuming you don’t give up a score. If you don’t get it, you can still force overtime by scoring again and converting the 2-point try.

I can see that. It's like get the hard part out of the way now so you're set up for the win with a TD and 1 pt PAT with the next score. Don't risk going to OT with 2 one-pointers.

This only works if you’re above a 50% success rate. Cinncy’s offense is not good enough to be at that level.

I'm low-key wondering if Leipold is looking for a way out of KU. Most of this is just because of his wife's tweet about fan support earlier this year, but the worse this year gets the more that thought sticks. Too be very clear, I don't think KU should or will fire him, but I'm wondering if he will look for greener pastures

Games set up nice for a run. Tech's starting QB went out with a shoulder injury. Came out after half in a sling and street clothes. They looked like hot garbage without him. I'd hope that would be a dagger for KU losing to instate rival Kstate. Not much left for that team to play for and no reason for Big12 refs to give them any home cooking at Arrowhead. Utah is laughable at this point. Cincinnati is looking decent, but they can't score, so I figure they'll put up 7 against us (first drive looking incredible). Kstate is looking to be the biggest game in the schedule. Works out great. We have them at home and it will be big news for the winner going into the Big12 championship. Worrisome, but we need these games to impress the committee and I want them as a fan.

If ISU is 11-0, with a recent Maui invitational championship, JTS is going to be insane. That may setup to be the biggest two week span in school history. Or, be the biggest kick in the nuts ever.

But I’d still prefer KSU to drop a game and give my heart a break.

Part of his problem is that he was really obvious about wanting out of Kansas each of the last 2 years. There is flirting with open jobs and there is what Leipold did. He really leveraged it into a ton of money and a huge contract.
