One of my biggest issues is how the announcers dont know the rules. Some mistake college rules and NFL. Some mistake current rules for old rules.

I dont know how many times I have heard the commentator say something completely wrong about how the clock rules work. Last night they obviously didnt know the fair catch rules on Kickoffs.

It is crazy. Come on its your job. Maybe take 5 mins to brush up on the rules before the season. Its sad when I know more about the rules than people who make a living off of talking about CFB.

Then you remember the people that vote on the AP Poll probably know even less. Just maddening.

SEC fines Texas $250,000 and requires UT to identify members of the Shorthorn Nation who were successful in bulllying the weak kneed officials to reverse the call.

Welcome to the SEC OuT! LOL.

No more conference catering to their every whim, and walking on eggshells around them to not upset them.

That’s probably an appropriate punishment. But $250K means nothing to Texas. And they’ll find like 4 students to pin this on and move along.

Those officials should face some sort of sanction too

We all know officials should be reprimanded for a lot of calls throughout many games.

But they are untouchable. They cant be criticised or punished for anything, pretty ridiculous.

Missing calls is expected. Overturning an announced call because you saw a replay on a video board is suspension worthy.
Right. You miss a call here and there that’s to be expected. Blatantly not following protocol (like looking at the video board and changing your mind after home fans deliberately and illegally delay the game) should never happen

Well, over the years there have been some really bad ones. I seem to remember some really bad ones for ISU.

I am not saying they should get heat for every call, but they definitely should not be immune to any criticism.

Sure. I’d like to think there is some internal criticism happening. But honestly, as bad as some of the calls were against ISU, there hasn’t been much that bad. It’s a matter of missing a call in real time and blatantly disregarding rules and process to change a call at the pressure of a home fan base.

I caught some of the Nebraska sports talk radio while going to pick up lunch. lol
As much as I would like to see Ohio State get a 2nd loss, I still would prefer to see the Huskers get steam rolled for a 2nd week in a row.

I would hope for some sort of fluke-y game where Nebraska barley wins. It would mess around with the Big 10 and fill the Nebby fanbase with false hope. It would also be horrible optics after the beatdown Indiana gave Nebraska.

Like a Vandy over 'Bama scenario.

But nobody sees Nebraska as Vandy because at one time they were top shelf. Even though they are closer than most think; Vandy's probably better by a wide margin this year.

Looks like the UCF vs ISU game was the highest rated of the games that weren't on the big networks (Fox, NBC, ABC, ESPN).
