Can’t believe I am going to defend the Iowa defense.

First, they aren’t elite but they are a very good defense who I don’t think is bad at all.

They can’t do anything honestly with an offense as putrid and heinous as the Iowa offense. Think our defense has gotten worn down in the past? This is next level **** with how much they are on the field or given terrible field position due to how pathetic the offense is.

The defense forced a pair of turnovers and one was a fumble for a TD. Ohio State is only 3 for 12 on third down, which is a very good stat. Problem is Ohio State is way better athlete wise and can take chances once it became obvious the Iowa offense was never going to score. Second half has been a free for all and the damn broke (naturally) because at some point you start to falter and honestly quit a bit when you know your effort is going to lead to nothing every drive, every week.

I love that Day is stil playing everybody and throwing down field. He is playing for something a lot bigger than this game and style points count. Same goes for stroud’s chances at the Heisman.

What do they need to do in this game to get something bigger? If they win out they are in the CFP whether they win by the 3 or 30 or 50. And Stroud's best path to Heisman is being undefeated at Heisman time.

Agree. I just don’t think they are overrated like many are saying on here. Overrated as in not top 5 or 10? Sure. But you can’t even fully judge them most days anymore when you know how terrible the Hawk offense is. It’s not even bad, it’s one of the worst P5 offenses in the last 20 years bad. Ohio State’s starting field position on most of these drives is laughable. They should honestly have 70+ right now.

I agree with you. They are a very sound defense. OSU’s offense is elite with elite talent at every position.
