Wouldn't shock me if it's also a trial run for the NFL to see if they can get cities to bid on the championship games going forward...
 
There was a tweet link to a story earlier today that said one of the ideas the NFL was considering was giving the 1 seed a choice between home field or the bye; then the 2 seed would have gotten the other. They abandoned that in favor of the neutral site, but I thought that was an intriguing idea. Some people I know have advocated (for baseball, at least) for top seeded playoff teams to be able to select their first-round opponents rather than automatically getting the lowest seeded team, which sometimes could be an advantage - it’s interesting to think of alternate ways of giving a number one seed a choice of what benefit they’d prefer.
 
Good info here...sounds like teams are voting on several possible scenarios tomorrow if certain outcomes happen this weekend.

Strange thing is...while contingency plans are great and smart, I don't think they're gonna be needed. I think KC wins and Buffalo actually loses at home to the Pats.

If it was my team I think I'd honestly rather coin flip then just have it at a neutral site
 
Might as well use the BCS rankings to sort this out. Computers favor KC, but the playoff committee is leaning Buffalo.

I was saying this to someone else,
You would think the NFL would already have a plan in place for a scenario where a game gets cancelled and get get replayed.
My guess is they do and it’s just like you said, winning percentage but they feel bad because of why the game was cancelled as opposed to a weather event or something. But you can’t give the Bills something just because you feel bad when they were probably going to lose that game outright
