NFL: ***2022 NFL Season Thread***

Interesting social media stuff going on with Kyler Murray. Wiped a lot of Cards stuff off his online presence.

wanting more money for his contract extension?
Probably, but the Cardinals have him locked up for 2 more years. This is pretty early to be pulling a power move. You'd think he'd try to hit the negotiation table first.
Then again, maybe he feels like he's got the franchise over a barrel and wants to strike while he can. Not sure I believe that, but QBs hold a lot of power. The Cards know what it's like to not have a franchise guy, or to draft the wrong one.

If so...YIKES! Don't want the NFL to turn into the NBA! I am all for the players getting paid...just don't want the animosity/drama that exists in the NBA in these types of situations.

If he is going to do that, it isn't going to end well for the Cardinals. Pay him and can't afford any talent around him or let him walk.

Maybe not the best thing to have the Pro Bowl in Las Vegas:

Kareem Hunt got an 8 game suspension for his hotel incident in 2018 when he kicked a woman so I can't imagine this is going to end well for Kamara with video of him hitting a man multiple times and the rest of his crew stomping on him as well. The Chiefs cut Hunt for that as well although part of that was Hunt lied to them about what happened then they found out later when the video came out. Any suspension less than a season with some terms to apply for reinstatement for Kamara at this point would be a bit surprising considering how bad they beat this guy and the charges he is likely going to face. This isn't something he will just be able to deny since they have video of the incident although I am sure they will try to spin it somehow to make it look like he was provoked.

Been pretty quiet on all fronts since the arrest but at some point you would think the league and the Saints will have to make a statement on what action they will take next.

I can't remember if Hunt's suspension came before or after the league revised punishments a few years ago. I was thinking 6 games is the baseline now, for assault, but I could be wrong, and if the video is egregious enough, they can obviously suspend him for more.

Interesting...one reason I don't follow the NBA too closely is just that...it feels like most conversations are about contract drama and not how the teams are actually doing.

He’s a really weird duck, not exactly something you’re looking for in the default face of the team/ leader of the team. I’d be pretty surprised if his next contract is with Arizona.

Any predictions around here today?

27-18, Rams. Kinda think I’m rooting for the Bengals but Stafford is fully deserving of a ring.

Im with you. Really want Stafford to get a ring. Dude deserves it for dealing with Detroit for 12 years. But if Cincy wins, wouldn’t bother me at all. They have a great young core.
