NBA: 2022 NBA Playoffs

Not so sure Phoenix played down a level as much as they just turned out to be not all that great after all. Also, this Boston/Miami series is the same as that Dallas/Phoenix series where every game is over very early.
They definitely played worse than they had all year. They have flaws but those all showed up at the same time, which is a problem for anyone.

When the GSW dynasty was starting, I was squarely on team anti-Curry, anti-Clay. However, I think a lot of that hatred was magnified when KD joined them as a ring chaser. I've really come to appreciate how Kerr has made every player on that team an essential asset, including new players. You can literally take one player out and plug in any new player. Their player development is incredible.

Steph's smirks still rub me the wrong way sometimes, but I'm beginning to understand it's because haters like me still have that little spot who want him to fail.
Kerr gets them overall to play very well defensively. Steph isn't the best but the rest of the roster really plays excellent D.

Honestly, maybe with the exception of the MIN-MEM and GS-MEM series, this year's NBA Playoffs has largely sucked. Even the series that have been "competitive" haven't really been entertaining.
You are right. I can't think of an NBA Playoffs in the last 10 years that have been this dull. And that's even taking the Bubble year into consideration. Maybe it's the LeBron factor not being there, but it just seems like it's been hard to get a game where both teams are locked in. Lots of blow outs and other games that don't do the term 'blow-out' justice.

Been A LOT of injuries and suspensions.
Personally I could watch Sixers, Bucks, Celtics any day of the week with how good those rosters are.

At least Curry is a generational talent that does things every game that seem unbelievable. Draymond sets a damn screen and they act like he deserves a statute outside the arena.
Probably because he’s more like a blocking fullback than setting a legal basketball screen

Haven't been many close games. Wins and losses all depends on which team is hitting from 3 that night. They really need to find a way to make post play relevant again.

The centers like Jokich, Embiid are pretty fun to watch overall though. Gobert is an excellent defender.

Do away with the 3 pt line. Only thing I can think of. Pushing it back gradually over the years has proven to not be the right answer.

I feel that way about Smart. I'm sure Celtics fans like him but his flopping would annoying the hell out of me as a fan. I actually also can't stand LeBron James. You watch him and he NEVER fouls. He's the biggest crybaby whiner and I can't stand him.

I still dislike Smart from when he was at Okie State.

Or just make 2's into 3's and 3's into 4's to reduce their impact.

But I think the better way is to reduce the fouls called on drives. Just let the game be physical enough that a guard can't drive into a center and go to the FT line over and over.

Also easy as I really hate all Boston and NY sports teams. He really fits the role.
I can't like Boston because of Smart and because I know too many people out here in eastern Iowa who have never set foot in Boston or in the state of Massachusetts but are big Celtic fans for whatever reason.

It's not just the Celtics. It's the general arrogance of all things sports in Boston. Just don't like any of them. Celtics, Patriots, Bruins, Red Sox, they could all go into a century long slump and I'd be happy.

I don't think this year has been dull at all, it's actually wide open this season. Had KD, Kyrie vs Boston in Round 1, had a terrific Celtics-Bucks series round two, plus a 64 win Phoenix team falling apart, Luka finally putting together a playoff run.

The 2016/17 Warriors were fun to watch but those playoffs were pretty dull, especially the '16 season when no one got close to them. 2014 was a pretty boring year, with the Spurs rolling over Miami in the Finals and no series going 7 after the first round. Last year had a very competitive Finals and the Milwaukee/Brooklyn Game 7 but that was about it.

If Celtics/Heat goes 6 or 7, the older GS team will catch a nice rest break. Cannot stand Smart for Boston or Draymond for GS, so a GS/Boston final is probably going to cause me to check out. Cheering for Riley/Spoelstra/Butler at this stage.

GS is doing this without Wiseman and Payton. Scary good next year if they are all healthy.

Wow, I didn't know you were such a sports nut, Rod.
