Lots of argumentative chatter on MVP but less on the Ruth/Maris stuff outside of Yankee chatter. Probably because it has looked like he was going to do it, barring injury, for a while now. The steroid era has, for sure, tainted traditional records, this one in particular. Steroids and a juiced ball inflated a lot of stuff during the Bonds/McGwire/Sosa timeframe. Speaking of the ball, bet I've seen Donaldson start a HR pose and trot 1/2 dozen times this year only to see the ball caught on the warning track. He looks stupid everytime he does it. I got it, maybe, earlier when the ball was first shown to NOT carry as far but by this point in 2022 I'd think he'd start to get it.

I wasn't sad to see him leave the Twins. Upon arriving, he was hyped up to be this all wise veteran who would teach the team how to be winners. Turns out, he's really just a jackass.

Plays a mean 3rd base but, yeah, quite an ass and hope the Yanks aren't stuck with for another year but they might be. Not hitting enough to offset him being a ****.
Between Donaldson and Urshela, I take Urshela every time. He's no world beater, but he is good defensively and has a decent pop to his bat at nearly a third of the cost vs Donaldson.
Games on Fox tonight so Fox doing there part. Friday night game is on SnappleTV (AppleTV+) which sucks for announcers but is at least free this year on Friday night. Slowly easing us into your teams games being on a half a dozen different subscriptions within the next couple of years. I have a team subscription to the Yanks and would, of course, like to hear it from Kay/Cone/O'Neil in the booth. Hope he at least hits one tonight so I get the Kay "See ya!" call.
If Judge wins the triple crown and breaks Maris' record I'm all for him getting the award.
Anything short of that and my non-existent vote would go to Ohtani. I continue to be amazed that he can strike out 200 batters as a pitcher while still hitting almost 40 home runs AND stealing double digit bases.

He won't win because the angels are dog **** and voters care about that despite it being an individual award. I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't even runner up.
He won it unanimously last year so they're willing to overlook his team I think. He can only do so much. I would like to see him on a contender though. The Angels suck every year.
I feel like that was more because he was actually what was promised or he was hyped to be in 2021 after rough a 2019 and 2020.
If actually winning games matters, Judge wins hands down. Yankees are maybe a .500 team without him this season.

Incredible career. 700 home runs is so hard to reach. Will likely be a long time before someone does it again.

Last week I was watching Yanks on MLB and they did a split screen whenever Pujols was up to bat.

The 62-year-old franchise will be rebranded, with the uniform style to be released after this season ends.
