With the money he has made from the Company, not surprised.

True...but he also knows what it is like to be injured, experience rehab and also miss out on the post-season due to injuries. We all know he wanted to finish the game...everyone in the sports world wanted that! But it is possible that he does have team goals that he is putting ahead of a perfect game. I get that it would be tough to not to be allowed to finish the game but I don't get why some refuse to see that their might be a scenario out there that is just as right. It has been said many times...he didn't even pitch in spring training...right?

Saying you're protecting the golden left arm for the season is one thing, saying he was starting to lose his control in the 7th is another.

Analytics? I do not see this as an analytics issue. This was about protecting a key player since it’s April and we had such a short spring training to build up pitch counts.
Long term it is analytics (albeit health analytics) that led teams to realize leaving pitchers in for 120 pitches was a bad choice.

The Dodgers did the right thing for health here.

I am ok with technology...but VPN stuff is something I have never looked into. Is it difficult to manage? What are the costs? Are their any drawbacks to using a VPN?
Not hard. Apps/programs will manage it for you, costs money -- not a lot but they're monthly subscriptions usually. Can cause issues with certain sites, but not likely. Often has some kind of impact to latency, if that matters to you on certain things.

Interesting read here. Hope it does the same for MLB next season.

"Last night, a new stricter enforcement of pitch clocks (14 seconds with bases empty and 18 seconds with runners on base) and rules that require hitters to remain in the batter’s box began to be enforced around the minors. And while it’s only day one of a season-long experiment, the results were dramatic. On their first day of enforcement, the new rules appeared to cut more than 25 minutes from the average game time.

Last night across the minors, the average game time for a nine-inning game was 2:38 and the median game time was 2:34. For the previous week of games, the average game time for a nine-inning game was 3:04 and the median game time was 2:59."

Too early hot take. Yanks and Sox will be fighting for third place, other two teams look to be clearly better squads. Won't help their cause by having to play nine games each in Toronto less some of their players who are not vaccinated and won't be allowed into Canada. The east teams all play each other a ton with the unbalanced schedule and playing without your full roster is going to hurt them. Think for sure Judge will be out, haven't heard specifics on Sox, Bogaerts reportedly is now vaccinated. Not going political, just noting how Canada's requirements will impact some teams/players. Mostly an east division issue with the unbalanced schedule, for other teams it's only a one series thing.

Neither of them have enough pitching to make a push for the top.

Yanks have best ERA in MLB. Pitching isn't an issue so far and I thinking pitching will be more than fine. They can't score worth a ****. If they do get runners on they strand them.

While Yanks can't score worth **** again this afternoon their #5 guy Nestor Cortes just had an "immaculate inning" with three strikeouts on nine pitches. Best he can hope for today is a no decision since the Yanks won't score anything for him, just like last year when he started.

Will note that Cole has way unperformed for the billion dollars they are paying him, especially in big playoff games.

My bad. I heard Jomboy ******** the other day about the rotation outside of Cole so that’s what I was basing it on.

Cortes was great with 12 strikeouts in 5 innings but of course is out now and Yanks haven't scored so he can't get a win. Now that he is out it's just boring as hell.

Edit: Whoops, he came out for the 6th, thought he'd be out with 80 some pitches this early in the spring.

Jomboy has gone full commercial which I get, he has a family to support but I am going to miss the old off the cuff irreverent (and profane) Jomboy.

So when is Vegas getting a MLB club?
Think there is a vote in Oakland on the new Stadium like in June or so. If that doesn't pass then would expect an announcement of the A's to Vegas or Nashville not too far down the road.
