Freaking Iowa is going to end up in Des Moines. Damnit.

Top seed in the pod is only protected in the first round and bracketing principles try to reduce travel.

They basically failed into a home site because if they were still on the 6/7 line they'd have gotten shipped out.

That said, if they would see Kansas in the 2nd Round, Kansas might win by 30.

Not a chance. Last I checked the brackets haven't came out yet and there's still 2.5 weeks left in the season.

They have just as good of a chance as being a 7 or 10 than an 8-9.

Iowa definitely has a chance to land in DSM.
We may not like it but its possible.

I don't know why people are dumbing this. Hell, Lunardi has Iowa in DSM.

I would guess if Iowa is in DSM they're highly valued by the committee and I'm not sure how a team that bad on defense gets that rep.

There's been posts about how lowly ranked Lunardi is in bracketology and he'll join the B1G circle any chance he gets. Especially since the ACC is so bad.

Iowa fans all of the sudden going to Iowa games and flooding Des Moines like they know about basketball would be pretty annoying though.

Boise St was a #8 and placed in the Portland region last year with #1 Gonzaga.
Not incredibly further from Boise to Portland than Spokane is.

It could happen.
Yeah, but it wasn't in Boise. Yeah, I guess it could happen. Just doesn't seem likely.

Sure he may suck, but I'm just using it as 1 example.
For all we know it may be Illinois in Des Moines as an 8. Sure a little further than KU but not an eternity.

Boise playing in Oregon isn't the same as Iowa playing in its home state. I'd love for it to happen because it would really **** off KU fans but I just don't see it.

Iowa isn't guaranteed an 8-9 anyways, they still have alot of games left and have more like a 6 or 7 resume right now.

I never said Iowa is guaranteed anything or that it's likely. I'm saying could. You realize the difference, correct?

Relax man, alot of things could happen. Only reason I responded to this anyways is that UNI1ISU2 guy was getting all upset that there's a small chance Iowa ends up here.

I can't see the committee giving a quasi home game against a #1 seed.
The committee is bound by bracketing principles. The top seed is only guaranteed protection in the first round and then they're charged with reducing travel where at all possible. They literally don't look at future matchups per the principles, that's not their job.

There's a ton of basketball left but if Iowa stays on a corresponding seed line to a Top 4 that ends up in Des Moines, I'd be more surprised if they didn't end up getting to stay home.

I'm very relaxed, trust me. I've said there's a chance, that's it, which you "dumbed." You are saying there's not a chance.
We have differing opinions but I'm not doing absolute statements.
