***2022-23 CFB Bowl Games Thread***

Man I get this take and I believe that bowl games really don’t matter but outside of texas are there many big 12 players sitting out?
I looked them up the other day. Not as many as you would think in terms of starters. None from the big teams. Oklahoma State had three, but only one was consistently playing. Baylor had one who was consistently playing. 2.5 for Texas (two who played and one who was on split duty). Oklahoma had like 4.5.

Thx for the correction. Certainly helps.
And with the turnover in teams with transfers now, and bowl games never reflecting anything on the strength of a conference the following season, it doesn’t matter. TCU was horrible last year and are in the CFP tonight.

Yeah I was trying to not be a **** about it but the Big12 just doesn’t put enough people in the NFL (especially in the early rounds) to have many sit out. Transferring is a totally different thing but most transfers wouldn’t be big impact guys.

Agree but the vast majority of those transfers had limited impact on their teams. Obv a starting QB is an outlier but most of those transfers weren’t getting playing time.

I get it but optics matter and it’s not good to be at the bottom regardless of circumstances.

B1G sucks this year outside of Michigan and tOSU too.... so there's that. The West is a total joke.
I mean, still a lot of games to be played, but the Big Ten is about to be 4-0 in bowl games, even with three NY6 bowls elevating their lower level teams. I don't know how you could argue they weren't in the conversation for the best conference top to bottom this season.

Iowa went from Petras to Labas.... that's probably an upgrade. Kentucky went from Heisman candidate QB to one of the worst I've ever seen. That was ballgame before it even kicked off today.

Howard over threw a wide open receiver, but it was otherwise a great call.

'Bama has dialed in on Deuce Vaughn, too, after getting burned early. So lets see what Colin Klein comes up with for the 2H.

Lotsa time left. Kliemen might be outgunned today, but he is not going to be out coached. He was 18-1 in FCS playoff games over 5 years at NDSU. Maybe it was 7 parts intimidation, but it was also 3 parts guile.

We (the Big 12) were undefeated in bowls just a couple of years ago and nobody in the national media cared. Nobody gives a crap about bowl records the minute the National Championship is completed. They care what teams/conferences win in the CFP. The CFP is all that matters anymore much like Final Fours in basketball.

They matter to the teams and those fans but bowls outside of the CFP are exhibitions.

This article shows how excited Kentucky and their fans were for the Music City Bowl... it was a huge letdown. And their Heisman trophy candidate QB wasn't playing either. Starting RB, starting DB. All NFL players.

Yeah you look at them Oklahoma St, and Syracuse. None of those teams were excited to go to bowl games based on how they finished their season. The B10 lucked into some super easy draws.

Kentucky’s QB isn’t a transfer he is a first round draft pick. I was talking transfers. Yeah the SEC is always going to have a bunch of people sitting out as they produce the most NFL talent.

Michigan gonna roll TCU, Big 12 has been exposed this bowl season.

Most likely... which will suck. Harbaugh is a horrible human being.

Michigan and tOSU were good obviously.... an argument could be made for Penn State. Nobody else was good at all. The entire B1G West was a joke. Even Michigan State could have won the West! ;)
