Guess TJ’s ISU stint lasted one day.
That's a good job, 8 years without an NCAA tourney win and 7 years with reaching BE semis once is rough though.
People need to realize that A. There is not a lot of top end talent in WI, and B. The odds are low that TJ is going to be a big improvement over Prohm in WI recruiting.
Over the past five years, here's how many 4 and 5 star guys there were, and where they went:
ISU - 2
Duke - 1
Texas - 1
Kentucky - 1
Marquette - 1
WVU - 1
Maryland- 1
Undecided - 1
Plus Prohm got the best 3 star in that period in Haliburton.
Not to mention, Marquette has what appears to be one walk-on on their roster from WI, and none of their recruits for the upcoming season are from WI.
Beard doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Southern guy, whole career spent playing and coaching down there is going to head to Indiana now? Well compensated in his current job as well.
The thing with Beard is I believe the ex and children live in Lubbock still so I have a hard time believing as well.
Tech is paying him an awful lot too.
But while Knight was at Tech. Given that, as well as Knight's pretty acrimonious dismissal, it seems unlikely Beard would harbor any special feelings for the school.

I’ve seen plenty of people suggest TJ was never a good fit for unlv. If that’s true, then Steve is really bad for.

Agree. The only way he ends up at a high mid-major or higher major is as an assistant, but I have a hard time seeing that.
