***2021-22 NCAA Mens Basketball Thread***

Oof, AJ Green went 1-14 (0-7 from 3) in the Panther's loss to Nicholls tonight.

Meanwhile, Jorbo exclusively chucks 3's and makes 6 of 8 for the ToE. Opening day is full of funny business.

They just got waxed at home by 14 to Vermont as well. UNI has finished .500 or below 4 of the last 5 seasons and is off to an 0-2 start this year. They haven't made the NCAA's since the A&M meltdown 6 years ago. At some point you have to wonder if Jacobson is just done. I mean that cash strapped athletic department can't keep paying him a million dollars for this. He's getting paid the same amount as Otz for goodness sake.

Still one of the more incredulous things I've seen on a basketball court.

Kennesaw St played Creighton pretty tough last night, even lead at half. Ryan Hawkins hit the game sealing bucket for the Jays. I know they are in a bit of a rebuild but nice to see Kennesaw give another p6 some issuse.

Does AJ Green come in to play then? Or does he just go make money. Could be a good scoring replacement for Brockington assuming he goes to play professionally. Also, Austin Phyfe seems like he'd slot in well to the 5 spot for us. Again, just thinking out loud but if this is the end for Jacobson, perhaps some opportunities arise locally in the transfer market.

Great game between Brown and UNC on ACC network right now. 75-74 UNC with under 8 left. Brady Manek plays for UNC and looks like a viking.

For the night owls there is a heck of a game that tips at 10:30 Central on ESPN2. Villanova @ UCLA.

Outstanding UCLA Nova first half.
Been a while since I've watched a UCLA home game.

Lost in the football games, but Gonzaga up 20 over Texas at half. Rasir hit a half court buzzer beater to close the half

Few must not read CF

He completely forgot who he is. A&M absolutely broke him.

He's in love with 'playing fast' but has no access and no idea how to recruit kids that can do that. So now, we're playing this weird moderate tempo with a European offense that doesn't go anywhere or create anything for anybody while not playing defense.

Born played last night (coming off a broken hand in preseason practice) and it was noticeably better but they better figure it out quick because the next two are Arkansas and St Bonaventure.

As for the money, luckily it's 100% privately financed with money that wouldn't be available otherwise. He's signed through 2029 with fully guaranteed money so it's not like there's $8M laying around to buy him out. I don't trust David Harris to make a hire anyway so the hope just has to be that it gets better because our entire department is in shambles right now.

I thought I'd heard that his salary was basically paid with outside dollars, but the point is there is only so much money to go around and UNI is paying P5 dollars for the results of the last 5 years it's just not going to leave fans with a good taste in their mouths.
