NFL: 2020 NFL Off-season Thread

I dont feel like it's an issue if you score like in the 20s or higher.

It isn't. If someone bombs, they bomb (although it should be noted that people can fare porrly in a test for any number of reasons that have nothing to do with IQ or "football intelligence"). But it should be a two way street - if I take the test, then I should have the assurance that the results are going to remain private and only accessible to the league and the teams. If they can't guarantee privacy then I don't take the test.

On field testing for QBs, WRs and TEs tonight. Burrow and Tua won't throw but all of the other top QB prospects are expected to. And a couple guys will make a run at breaking the combine 40 record; Ruggs from Bama and Reagor from TCU might have a decent chance.

I knew about both McInally and Vince Young. I've taken a Wonderlic sample test online, I scored 34. It's challenging.

A better IQ test is if they pass the drug test. If a guy can't get clean and stay clean for this, he's either an idiot or he's got some dependency problems.

The actual IQ test...why bother? If the guy is smart enough to have grasped the concepts he needed to know at the college level, odds are pretty good he'll be fine at the next level as well.

To me it just seems like an unnecessary hoop for prospects to jump through, and it's made worse by the fact that the league annually fails to keep the scores private.

Isn't the issue mostly a time crunch rather than the questions being like tough tough. Also from some googling a 10 is considered literate.

On field drills starting now at the Combine. Tight Ends running their 40's.

Pretty good night for Jalen Hurts. Ran a 4.59 40 (pretty fast for weighing in around 220) and threw the ball really well in the passing drills. Might make some teams go back for another look at his game film.

Herbert put up a decent time as well for someone his size. I think he's going to go a lot higher than most mocks have him. Some team is going to fall in love.

Agreed. I think if another team moves up into the top four for Tua the Dolphins will be perfectly fine with taking Herbert at five.

Ruggs doesn't get the record but still runs a blazin' 4.27.

I've seen some observers reporting hand recorded times as low as 4.15. Dude can fly.

Chase Claypool from Notre Dame had himself a good session. 6'4, 240, and ran a 4.42 and put up a 40 inch vertical. I would have been impressed if he had managed a 4.55. 4.42 probably turned some heads.

Anyone know if Sage Rosenfels is a scout for an NFL team? He was posting videos of QBs from the combine. One video was of Justin Herbert and the caption was "Herbert sucks." Sage seemed to really like Anthony Gordon out of Washington State.

That'd be news to me. I thought he did some writing here and there and a little radio work and that was about it.

Gordon has been mentioned a couple times in the last month as a potential Day Two guy. Not a big arm but decisive and accurate. And maybe after Gardner Minshew's success in Jacksonville NFL teams will start to be a little more open minded about QBs coming from Mike Leach's system.

I think Gordon is about a 4th rounder, but could sneak into round 3. I have him rated as the #7 QB.

I wonder if Sage is scouting QBs for the Vikings.
