What are "Allen Lazard Truthers"?
Was wondering about that too. Guessing he gets a lot of tweets saying that Lazard is good/going to make the team and maybe he is skeptical about that? So he decided to throw the "Lazard backers" a bone? I don't know...

Some feedback - from Day 6 of practice - on Allen Lazard and the battle for the 6th WR position, from a radio station that thought that branding itself as "The Hog" was a positive step:

WR6 battle heating up
It seems like the other wide receivers read yesterday’s praise regarding Rashad Greene’s emergence in the sixth receiver battle, as both Allen Lazard and Shane Wynn had excellent days.

Wynn was able to consistently get separation against opposing defensive backs in red zone drills. He burned cornerback Tyler Patmon in back-to-back drills, showcasing his elusiveness.

Lazard, too, had a fine day during team reps. He caught a long ball from Tanner Lee — but perhaps what was most impressive was the amount of separation he created on that play.

My comment: It's nice that they cite AL's separation; that seems to have been a concern that led to not getting drafted.

Short piece on Jeremiah George in the Colts' training camp on stampedeblue.com; here's a blurb:

George is probably not in the mix for a starting job this year after some of the moves Chris Ballard made this offseason. His spot on the regular season roster will depend on preseason injuries and how well he plays on the Colts’ special teams units.

After drafting three linebackers this offseason, it’s hard for me to see the Colts offering Jeremiah George a contract extension next year. However, he will have an opportunity to earn some playing time in a linebacking corps without much proven talent.

It looks like Oni Omoile was cut after the May rookie camp; from what I can tell he's not in the Bengals' training camp now. Maybe someone has more up-to-date info. Here's a blurb from a May article:

To make room for the three signings, the Bengals waived guard Oni Omoile, tight end Scott Orndoff and safety Robenson Therezie. Omoile and Orndoff are first-year players in 2018,

Maybe Lazard chose the Jaguars for a reason:

The Jacksonville Jaguars don’t have the best wide receivers in the league — that’s hard to do without a star guy who plays outside and demands extra coverage — but to call it one of the worst is a bit of a stretch.

Pro Football Focus released their rankings of all 32 receiving corps in the NFL and the Jaguars’ group is ranked 30th, higher than only the Arizona Cardinals and Buffalo Bills.

Nothing major to report from Lazard on Day 8 of training camp with the Jags, which isn't good when there are several people competing for (maybe) one spot. There was another report of a dropped pass in a scrimmage and bigcatcountry.com reported this:

Outside of Chark, it was a good night for Marqise Lee and Dede Westbrook, but an uneventful night for most of the remaining wide receiver group, though Allen Lazard and Shane Wynn each had a nice catch for short gains...

My guess is that he won't stick on the regular roster but what do I know?

Not much to mention from Cowboys camp. For what it is worth, there was some roster churn at the bottom with the 'Boys releasing two players (none of them Cyclones) in order to sign two.

Lance Lenoire and Michael Gallup - two WRs that Murdock is battling for the remaining 2 or 3 receiver spots - have been having a good week of practice according to reports, so that's not great news for Marchie fans.

From Bigcatcountry.com, Allen Lazard gets a nice mention in the 3rd "story line" on the Jags' 1st pre-season game (tonight vs. the Saints):

The battle for the final wide receiver spot should also start to come into focus. My understanding is that Shane Wynn and Jaydon Mickens (with an exception) are eligible for the practice squad this season, and rookie free agent Allen Lazard has come on strong lately. When I interviewed Lazard at the Senior Bowl, he shared that the Saints were his favorite team growing up and that they “grilled him” on the whiteboard in his first meeting in Mobile.

They only list local TV in the article so I don't know where the rest of us might see if. Perhaps others know more than I do on this topic.
