Will Gremmel be much of a drop off from Harrington?

Love that we are going to the Southern Scuffle this year. Also really like that we have Missouri coming to Hilton at the end of the year.

I also love having Missouri coming to town to end the year is fantastic. I am already ready for Wrestling season. The Southern Scuffle on the schedule is also exciting! Should be some fun winter months with Cyclone Athletics as the Football, Men's Bball, and Wrestling all look to have successful seasons!

So why do we go to UNI 2 years in a row?

And what is the Last Chance Open?
I also wondered that.. Maybe Dresser is waiting to have a better lineup to bring UNI to Hilton? lol

I have never heard of Last Chance Open. but it sounds sweet! haha

I think he will be on par with what we saw last year with Harrington. Like Buf said, if he can clean a few things up and keep progressing, he has a higher upside IMO.

He has looked good so far this spring. He just needs to stay healthy also as we don't have much behind him. (Hopefully we can land Schultz in next year's class too)

Big 12 decision to have Iowa State come to UNI again to try to balance the league dual schedule. Schwab was pretty surprised.

Look for that dual to be in the McLeod Center instead of the West Gym.

Last Chance Open is similar to what there used to be on the East coast. This will allow athletes to get a few more matches at the end of the year. Iowa said that was the only date available and since the meet is at Iowa they have full control of the date.

Where is this tourney at?

Wow I haven't been on in a few days. Awesome awesome awesome news!!!

Reeves and Anderson are both awesome gets!! 125, 133, 149, 157, 197, 285 all have a couple options now.

It's home so I assume Hilton.

Interesting if it is at home! I wonder if it would be limited to D1 wrestlers.
Matches against other divisions & NAIA don't have much benefit at that point in the season

It will be interesting to see the strategy here. Most teams won't put strarters through the grind of an open tournament less than a month before conference.

Yeah I figure it would be more to get fringe qualifiers the matches to get eligible for RPI

Agree and I like the strategy. I also love a good tournament so hopefully a lot of D1 backups show. Seems like last year was light on late season tournaments so this would be a great move.

ISU would of had 3-4 more guys receive qualifier for the conference. There will be a bunch of fringe guys and back-ups. You will also see a lot of guys drop out once they meet match or win criteria for a conference allocation. The way Wrestling is now if you move weights or get injuried it is tough to meet qualification.

ok that makes sense for the iowa dual then. interested in what this "last chance open" will be like. hopefully we get some good teams come in for that, as well as at the cyclone open, which I felt was lack-laster last season compared to past seasons when we had navy, nebraska, sdsu, wisconsin and others show up
