**2016 Capital City League Thread**

Carter looks much more aggressive this year. His length could really help us during certain games. I don't see him playing a bunch of minutes, but it would be nice if he could give us some solid play when we need him.

For those who attended, who generally won the face off between Burton and Young? From the video, Young looked pretty good for a freshman.

I'd probably say Burton but he did take a lot of shots to get his points. There were plenty of times Solomon forced him to over dribble and take a nearly impossible shot. It was fun to watch. Offensively, Solomon wasn't very aggressive in this game.

Hope they put Young and others on Burton in practice to really push his game. Really help him step up to the next level with his game.

Long and Holden down by 5 at halftime to Burton. Holden/Long have 5 points combined. They are struggling today. Hoping they win so we can see them again tonight. We've all seen what Burton can do so I'm rooting for the new guys.

Jakolby and Holden have a chance to redeem themselves the next game. They win by 1 as Jakolby makes the game winning free throw with .8 seconds left.

I was talking about me. Pick up basketball bores me to tears unless I see new people

Agreed. The CR Gazette once again glorifies the PTL league in IC--daily in the print edition

Someone scores 20 points and they're the next Michael Jordan

gawd Jordan Ashton was 10-13 fgs the other night which tells you something

Saw some highlights from tonight already. I think Simeon Carter is so close to being a big time player. You can't teach that length. A little more strength, experience and with that will come more coordination and quicker feet I think he will turn the corner. Really wish he would've red shirted last year

Echoing those with more insight.... It's all about maturity, in multiple ways, for him.

Ashton is likely one of the most experienced players in that league, not surprised he does well.

His game is starting to remind me of Andrew Bynum (not as much length). If he continues to get stronger and improve his footwork he will be a big time player.

I believe it was Jared who said on a podcast recently that Simeon seems like a guy who can really make a contribution his junior year and I'd agree with that. If he can improve his footwork and low post game along with continuing to put in the work in the weight room, I think that can happen.
