2 Seed in K.C.

Just keep winning just keep winning...

I agree. I'm not saying I hope we lose to TCU to get the four seed. But if we do lose I don't think getting then 4 seed would be a bad thing. I'm not sure I remember a year where seeding means less in the conference tournament. It's going to be chaos.

I would rather face KU in title game (or preferably face another team in the title game with 18k ISU fans).

I have narrowed down all of the scenarios to:

If we win:

1. OU, BU wins and WVU loses - We get #3 seed.
2. Otherwise, we get #2 seed.

If we lose:

1. OU and BU win - #4 seed
2. OU and BU lose - #2 seed
3. All other - #3 seed

Also, reminder of game times:

Friday Night: 8pm - Texas Tech at Baylor

Saturday:
1pm Oklahoma State at West Virginia
3pm Kansas at Oklahoma
3pm Kansas State at Texas
7:30 Iowa State at TCU

So there will only be two scenarios before our game.

I was almost hoping ISU-TCU was as early as possible, so any direct best-case/worst-case possibilities were already in place. It's becoming stressful to have these "maybe-if" possibilities quashed by a letdown.

Additional note: I didn't realize Tech-Baylor was a Friday game. Why is that?

our seed = 3-5 spots higher than we're picked in preseason poll every single season

Did I hear them correctly last night when they said Perry Ellis is only a junior?

Didn't realize TTU-BU was the night before, so we will know where we stand going into our game. Could be good, could be bad, doubt it matters to the team without a Big 12 title on the line either way.

Thanks for doing the leg work.

I checked Bracket Generator, and I might be wrong, but it looks like in your first scenario (ISU beats TCU) we'd get 2 seed as long as West Virginia beats Oklahoma State — OU/KU and BU/TT wouldn't matter.

Note: It was same for 2 seed regardless of outcomes of OSU-TCU and Texas-KSU.

I am not 100% positive about it, I did it quickly.

As for the requirements if ISU loses at TCU, I'll take your word for it.

Right, WVU-OSU by itself would be enough to get us the 2 seed. Like I said, there are three games that could get us over the hump if we beats TCU, WVU over OSU being one of them, and we just need one of those three to go our way. The other two are KU over OU, or TTU over BU.

To be honest, I wouldn't mind the 4 seed at this point. KU looks like a wounded duck. Playing them early may be the easiest road to the championship.

For those of us with tickets to KC, being on the opposite side of KU in the bracket is better financially.

If Baylor gets the 4 seed, which I believe is likely, then I think Baylor-Kansas on Friday would be a great game. The Big 12 deserves that game plus Iowa State-Oklahoma in the semis. Outstanding basketball. But at least one of those four will lose on Thursday, conference is just too deep.

We need to win to stay away from getting the dreadful 4 or 5 seed in the Big Dance. If we lose to TCU this weekend then you can bet we are a 4 or a 5 seed. I would like to stay away from this to avoid potentially matching up with Kentucky in the Sweet 16 and would rather not have to deal with them until the Elite 8 at the earliest.

You are skipping the quarterfinals. We'd have to play the 5 seed which will be a very good team. Semi's will be brutal regardless so we need to hope for easiest quarterfinal matchup.
