I do remember how Narveson panned out.

It just wasn’t for us.

To be fair, he probably wasn't mis-evaluated. If I recall correctly he even said in an interview that he had learned his lesson and that he hadn't worked as hard as he should have. It isn't easy to evaluate a player's work ethic. They can be the best today and a year from now everyone who works harder has passed them.

Yeah this is true, Not sure if you can call him a true 5 star, he is a 5 star when only considering other kickers.
But someone tell me what metric do you look at when you look at the star level? What rating does anyone officially go by?
It seams like everyone has a different rating depending on where you look, so which is the official one? Or is it really you just go by whatever rates them the highest?

These are honest questions, not sarcasm I really want to know. I'm sure someone that follows all the recruiting in much more detail than I do has some answers.

247 composite is probably the “best”. There are no “official ratings”. Similar to teams looking for different types of talent, different recruiting services grade players differently. Just because you fit in one system doesn’t mean you fit in another. Different teams have different styles. Different players have different skills and abilities.
