1st. Game: ASU or Baylor?

How was Baylor not better this year? They have two first-round NBA picks and a good coach in Drew.
I agree Drew is a good coach - but since McCasland left BU, they haven't been the same. At first, I thought the loss of Tang was the reason for some of their recent struggles. That probably hurt them a little bit in recruiting, but the coaching level definitely dropped once McCasland left.

I think they've essentially turned over their roster two years in a row. I believe their starting 5 were all transfers/newcomers this year. No continuity.

McCasland left prior to their natty run though.....so who knows?

They've been really good since McCasland left after the '15-'16 season, including the '21 National Championship. They only had one really good season while McCasland was there, the '11-'12 Elite 8 team. The other years were a team that missed the tournament, a team that went .500 in conference and made a run to the Sweet 16, and two good but not great teams that lost in the first round of the NCAAs.

This. It's a program of mercenaries, even their own student body and fans have no attachment to those guys. Soulless is the word that comes to mind. It's an empty program, and frankly, Drew should probably move on at this point. Though I'm more than happy to see BU continue to struggle, I'm good with that.

Appreciate the correction to my info - I gotta do better at checking sources before posting!
