13-9 Vanderbilt crushes Texas A & M

Maybe we have to face the stark reality that we aren't as good as we would like to think.

Pretty sure we already have faced that. At least most. Even when we had some big wins. Heck, going into the season, we all knew this team had a small margin for error, plus injuries and weak bench not helping. Is what it is.

Vanderbilt is struggling to live up to their expectations but they arent a bad basketball team. Alot of preseason magazines had them picked to finish 2nd in the SEC. I heard a couple analysts predicting them as a sleeper final four contender also.

If you look at their schedule they played a brutal non-conference schedule and came up just short on a number of occasions. Their only home loss was to Dayton so they play really well at home. I don't think its a terrible loss for A&M and doesnt prove we are any worse because we lost to them.

This is where I'm at. It's not really anything we don't already know, but some Cyclone fans are living in denial about the season still. We're a good team, but nothing special.

Or that basketball is hard. This is happening for everybody.

Its always fun to see the fans that have never actually watched basketball come out of the wood work.

A ranked team LOST on the road to an unranked team?!?!?!? I have literally NEVER seen that since... well... since Tuesday night when #11 Providence lost at freaking DePaul.

There's something to this. They wanted that game against us so bad for whatever reason. Maybe the master v. apprentice dynamic, but they were like us playing KU that game.
Or one game was at home and the other on the road and Vandy hit 13 threes.

Have you looked at who Vandy lost to?

N 7 KU
@ 15 Baylor
V 24 Dayton
@ 18 Purdue
V LSU
@ Ark OT
@ South Carolina
@ 20 UK
@ Texas

Arkansas on the road is the "bad loss" and all the other teams except maybe LSU is a 9 seed or higher in the tourney. LSU is the 5th team out right now. Vandy themselves are the 8th team out.

Vandy was picked to finish 2nd in the SEC. They are a good team who has had trouble putting it all together.

A&M lost to a bad Arkansas team before they played Iowa State. Neither of them stung for me

A&M has lost 2 of 3 in a bad basketball conference to teams with a combined record of 24-20 with one game being a blow out yet beat ISU at home by double digits. It should sting a little.

Doesn't sting at all, ISU is #12 in the RPI so things can't be that bad.

Who's your favorite team?
