I like the basketball terms used back then: they "threw" the ball at the "ring". :)
It's almost not even the same game. It was a glorified game of keep-away in the olden days.
The shot clock hadn't been dreamed of. A jump ball after every made basket. No goaltending violations. Dribbling rules were strict which, I'm guessing, led to more jump balls.
