    2025 Bracketologies

No if we lose out or go 1-2, we could definitely fall to the 4-line and drop to Denver. But our results don't happen in a vacuum; other teams will drop games too. Also unlike last year when it was Omaha or Memphis/Pittsburgh for 1st weekend sites, I don't see much of a difference between...

    2025 Bracketologies

My bracket and resume comparison link after the weekend's games. Some bracket notes: The top 6 has separated itself at this stage. Would be really surprised if seeding order isn't Auburn, Duke, Houston or SEC 2 for the 3rd 1-seed, the other for the 4th, and then SEC 3/SEC 4 for the top two...

    2024-2025 MBB computer projections thread

Saw UConn at 13 and thought what the hell? Then saw "Ratings carry over from season to season". Kenpom has UConn at 36, Torvik has them at 37, EvanMiya at 25. How do you have UConn at 13 and not wonder if your model might need to be recalibrated a bit before going live with it Nate?

    2025 Bracketologies

My updated bracket headed into tonight's Tuesday slate of games. ISU and other random notes: Keep rooting against Michigan State, Wisconsin, and Texas A&M. Wouldn't be bad if St. John's took one more loss either if you want to be a 2-seed. It's going to be more and more difficult to keep...

    Next years roster

Is there a reason Pleta wouldn't come in as a freshman? I know he'll be 21 but does that matter?

    Student Attendance

If I remember correctly, the Kansas game this year didn't have any students in the upper deck. The atmosphere didn't seem any worse to me. When Cujo hit the 3 before the end of the 1st half, it's the loudest I've heard Hilton in a while.

    Student Attendance

I would have to imagine it would be a plus financially as well if those seats now become season tickets.

NCAA March Madness Men's Bracket Preview

Very unlikely to be in a scenario where we are a 2 and Texas Tech is a 3. Committee forever had a rule that any teams from the same conference that were 1, 2, 3, or 4-seeds had to be in different regions. As conferences are now huge, this can no longer be followed perfectly. As an example, the...

NCAA March Madness Men's Bracket Preview

Most positive thing for ISU fans to come from that is that the committee chair specifically mentioned injuries when they seeded Iowa State and Kentucky. If we keep taking care of business and end up only taking 1-3 losses with the full squad, sounds like the committee will value that.

    2025 Bracketologies

I've been posting my bracketology projections here the last few years. No time like the present with the early reveal happening tomorrow. This will be my ninth year doing bracketology. On the Bracket Matrix rankings page, I'm currently ranked 34th out of 179 of those who have been doing it 3+...

NCAA March Madness Men's Bracket Preview

Already happening with the new Pac-12 starting not next season but the following. Article mentions there's also been discussions with Grand Canyon and St. Mary's as well. Hope they reach out to New Mexico also...

*** Official #10 IOWA STATE vs UCF Game(Day) Thread ***

Seems like the basketball program and/or this coaching staff are now fully embracing Walking Cy, which I'm all for. Think it's our best logo. Hope it becomes primary basketball logo/theme over next few years.

Will we be a 1-6 seed?

If people want to find comps to other teams for optimism, 2019 Texas Tech was 15-1 before they lost 3 straight Big 12 games and 4 of 6 in late January, then they won every game the rest of the regular season, dropped their first B12 tourney game, and got a 3 seed and were one Deandre Hunter 3...

Will we be a 1-6 seed?

You do realize the irony of you saying we're not the same team we were 3 weeks ago and then also expecting the team we are right now to be the same 3 weeks into the future right?

    2025 Bracketologies

Not a huge deal as there are three somewhat advantageous first weekend tournament sites this year in Milwaukee, Wichita, and Denver, but starting to get a little competition for Milwaukee from the Big Ten. Purdue, Wisconsin, and Michigan State are all possibilities there now. Gotta stay ahead of...

Williams & Blum: Cyclone Therapy Hour

Everyone's list is their own list, but wild to me to have the Arizona game over the Craft Ohio State game in 2013. A buzzer beater after that charge call to end the season when a Sweet 16 berth was on the line in a blown up region? That will always be high on the list for me.

Do you think people will finally stop coming to this thread saying, "I just don't get it with Houston!" :jimlad: They've won 18 straight regular season conference games. They should just be flat-out trusted as a program as long as Sampson is there. Game down there on Feb 22 should be a blast.

For anyone who looks at this and says not to trust it, just a reminder that this is Torvik's bracket projection at the end of the season based on his rankings and how they project future games will play out. There is an option on his site to see a bracket projection "if the season ended today"...
