Who actually scores for Michigan State? The starters only account for 47 points!

Spartans will be without one of their best players, Matilda Ekh, who just left to go to Sweden to represent and play on their national team. She and fellow Spartan freshman DeeDee Hagemann were both on the Big Ten All-Freshman team last year. They had nobody on the pre-season All-Big Ten team. Looks like she will only miss our game. Will be a heck of a road trip flying from Sweden to Oregon to catch a game with a 12 hour jet lag both ways in a week!

Spartans haven't played anyone yet. Last year they were middle of the pack Big Ten but played the better teams close. They weren't getting blown out or anything. Good program, Suzy Merchant pretty much gets them to the NCAA most years, 11 of last 13.

We played them in 2021 in the NCAA and beat them 79-75 in San Antonio. Joens scored 33 points. Their best player was Nia Clouden who is now in the NBA. Our best player is still here. We also beat them in the NCAA by one point the last time we made the Elite 8 in 2009.

Sundays game. Found this on the MSU page.

LOOKING AHEAD TO NORTH CAROLINA
No. 8/10 North Carolina leads the series against Michigan State, 3-1. The two teams have not met since 2014 when UNC defeated MSU 62-53 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in Chapel Hill. Current Co-Director of Breslin Center Athletic Performance Annalise Pickrel was a senior on that team. Michigan State's last win came on Dec. 3, 2009 in East Lansing in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, 72-66.
The Tar Heels started the season 4-0 with wins over Jackson State, TCU, South Carolina State and James Madison. Five UNC players average in double figures led by Alyssa Utsby who is scoring 15.5 points to go along with 8.3 rebounds per game.
LOOKING AHEAD TO OREGON
No. 18/18 Oregon is on top of the all-time series with Michigan State, 2-1, but the Spartans won the last meeting in East Lansing, Dec. 5, 2018, 88-82. Michigan State took down Sabrina Ionescu and the Ducks behind a career-high 27 points from senior Jenna Allen. Oregon won the other two meetings in Eugene.
The Ducks started the season with a 4-0 record this season, including a 66-54 win over Southern Utah on Nov. 21. Five Oregon players average in double figures through the first four games led by Grace VanSlooten, averaging 13.3 ppg.

Portland would have been a good trip catch both the men and the women games. Sort of regret not pulling the trigger on it.
Portland is a fun city. Not too bad to fly too and these arenas aren't packed so I'm guessing tickets weren't crazy. Plenty of lodging that isn't too bad either. Would've been a fun trip

Usually some good deals that make it worth driving up to MSP to fly over as well. I went out there when we played Oregon State since my sister lives in Corvallis. I'm also kind of regretting not going this time.

Did Mrs. Otz make the trip to Portland? She had the dagger in that 2009 Sweet 16 game.

Red flag on this team is defense. We can’t guard athletic guards. Just seems like we are slow. We counter that with shooting well I guess. I thought we would be tougher on defense around the rim at 6-6.

2 gals knock it out of out of our hands and its their ball? hmmmm...
