Night game is the obvious answer, you can do things before during the day and then have entertainment for the night.
You described tailgating, which sucks before 11 am games. Tailgating for night games on a day like Saturday is hard to beat.11 am game. That way you can take it easy after the game, don't have to leave right away. Kick back have a few beverages, grill some burgers and brats post game, pack up and traffic is not an issue (see thread on parking lot issues).

Kinda like a like traffic, unless you leave the game early. I’m a 4:30 wake up in the morning person so 11 is fine with me. Plus living in Ames it only a couple miles home. Forty hands on Saturday slowed me down. Doing that on a late start is a lot easier than doing it on a 11 am start!!You described tailgating, which sucks before 11 am games. The late kick screwed up my Sunday. I can get up at 5:00 no problem for an 11:00 game.11 am game. That way you can take it easy after the game, don't have to leave right away.
