I just watched S5E7 of The Bear. That’s one of the best hours of television I’ve ever seen.
I finished Dutton Ranch over the weekend. I waited for it all to drop before starting it. it was entertaining for the most part. The acting was far better than that gawd awful Marshalls show that Sheriden plopped out.
A few things I didn't like.
-Carter bugged me. He was too emo for the rest of the show. The ranch hands ******* with him while hungover made me laugh, though. It definitely reminded me of a few Satuday mornings I had with my dad when I was growing up.
-I'm torn on if I liked the ending or if it was really ham-fisted.
-Annette Bening did great with what was asked of her, but her character arc felt cobbled together for the final 2 episodes.

The drug cartel kinda just came in at the very end and took over the story line. I get how it all ties in, but it felt like they wanted a big splashy season finale and opted for something over the top.

Also on Prime Video, "Maison Prison" is the 5-episode story of a trained Japanese chef who, after the owner of her restaurant runs away with all the money, takes a job as a dietician in a prison where she must train some of the inmates to cook, and also convince everyone that the prisoners deserve the dignity of eating tasty food on a budget. (can't find a trailer for it, sumeimasen) A little hokey, maybe, but enjoyable if you're looking for a short change from the usual streaming fare.

I know it's been out for awhile but finished the season of starting 5 that featured Tyrese. I know his season ended on a tough note but the fact that they covered him during this best season in the league was great.

The small town murder guys patreon have a bonus where they review maternal instinct. Can wait to hear them talk about this crazy *****.
Netflix docs true crime docs are crazy from perfect neighbor one to the crash, maternal instinct to name a few.
Apologies if this has been mentioned, but everyone should watch Foundation on Apple TV+. Might be the most tightly written piece of sci fi of all time and so far, the show absolutely does it justice.
I finally streamed that last night when I was blocked out of the baseball game I'd like to have watched.
I am somewhere in the middle of the reactions above. The idea that this knucklehead could fly the ship and navigate space with no training was beyond farfetched. It was a little entertaining, if a bit long, in spite of the cartoonish approach. I'd give it 6/10 and mostly becasue I am a sucker for sci-fi
Apple was fritzing last night, so didn't get another Silo Fix, so went to "The Long Walk" on Max. Not bad, sort of like a dystopic Movie of the Week, but the big surprise (to me and my house) was that the role of the Major was NOT played by John Goodman, but rather
Mark Hamill.
