This bullpen....holy hell these guys suck
Lester. Dude had the worst yips throwing to first I've ever seen.It is something how many pitchers can't throw it accurately to a base after fielding the ball.
Pulled Rea early while he was dealing and giving up soft contact knowing what was in the pen..
And Rea was only at like 76 pitches. Counsell trusts this pen way too much for some odd reason.Pulled Rea early while he was dealing and giving up soft contact knowing what was in the pen..
Problem is they may hang around for a wild card spot. I think they do like they have lately with mediocre teams and add some cheap pieces and kind of stand pat and see what happens. If the pitching staff was healthy they may have been aggressive buyers but just too many holes right now to use top prospects to acquire some of the top pitching that may be available.Impossibly bad bullpen.
Part of the reason Cubs should be sellers this year. The likelihood of them doing anything this year with streaky hitters, a complete whiff in Bregman, and a bullpen made up of non-professionals, is next to nothing.
The iPad must have said differentlySad. Giving up soft contact with this defense is not a bad idea at all.

Little has been so bad they sent him back to Knoxville.Guess I'm all in for US Open today.
Cubs are going to struggle with bullpen until they focus on bringing in high velo arms AND more importantly develop a majority of the arms within their minor league system.
Off top of my head- Steele, Horton and Palencia are only guys who came up through system. And in looking at I-Cubs roster not seeing any future arms to get excited about. Holy crap, I thought Luke Little had a ton of potential 3 years ago, guy can't throw strikes. A pitching lab is of little value if it can't develop drafted players.
