Will this season count against their eligibility then? The good thing is, they'll be wrestling this season, they just won't be going to Nationals. Honestly, women's wrestling is a lot of tournaments and not a ton of duals, so the only main difference this year will be no post season. Better than not competing at all.
As far as I understand it, it'll be considered a redshirt year for anyone participating. They'll compete unattached as CRTC wrestlers. Will this season count against their eligibility then?
5 for 5 is only for true Freshman. Everyone in college already will use the current NCAA eligibility rules. As far as I understand it, it'll be considered a redshirt year for anyone participating. They'll compete unattached as CRTC wrestlers.
If the five in five becomes official, it would count as one year of participation/eligibility, I believe.
I believe that athletes in college can pick whether they use the 5 for 5 or use the old rules. For example, Blum mentioned on the last podcast that Jaylen Raynor could have 1 additional year if the 5 for 5 passes since he played his true freshman-junior years. And Milan could also get another year of eligibility5 for 5 is only for true Freshman. Everyone in college already will use the current NCAA eligibility rules.
