*** Cyclone Fanatic Fast Food Tournament Round of 64 ***

Taco John's beating Chipotle is blowing my mind.
Taco Johns would have been a one seed in high school. I had to base my vote on recency. While I've been to some crappy Chipotles, the TJ near my house in KC sucks, while the Chipotle is really good.

It would be interesting to see a map of voters to see how certain franshises locations are being blacklisted in this tourney.

The Taco Bell closest to me has to be the worst run restaurants I've ever seen. Even without that bias, a 1 seed for Taco Bell is a travesty.

i absolutely hate many of the top seeded places. just pure garbage. Two 16s over 1s for me.
There was some consideration given to history/impact/longevity in seeding, although not the only factor.

Even within the committee, personal preference was higher for some who aren't in the higher seed lines, but we tried to strike a balance.

The fun part is, voting will reach a consensus determination. A tournament without (m)any upsets would be boring.

I am side eyeing anyone who voted for BK.....that place absolutely sucks.
Out of every fast food joint, BK's fall from grace seems the steepest, especially given that they used to be such a major player in the genre. I've been to maybe 3 in the last 10 years, waited a long time and didn't get good or warm food at any of them. And all were dirty.

It pisses me of nostalgically, too. I spent a good amout of time studying at the BK across from Friley. 2 burgers/2 fries/2 bucks with a small bottomless soda was right in my financial wheelhouse. And their burgers used to be really good for a fast food burger.

Historical significance and industry impact played a part in the seedings. Taco Bell was the first to introduce Mexican fast food the country. Obviously there are others today that win in terms of food quality but TB blazing that trail in the early 1960s is the reason for the #1 seed.

Voted.
1. How the eff did Subway get a 3 seed? They’re play-in at best.
2. No idea how I choose between Hardee’s and Taco John’s when they meet. One of them is winning the whole thing.

Agreed. I used to work at a Taco Bell.... their food quality is so bad, I would not even eat there... and I was able to eat for free!

It's not easy coming up with 64 fast food chains (not including pizza) that the masses know about and have tried.

Especially with how regional newer franchises can be and they usually they stem from the coasts or the south.

The Double Whopper helped pull me off life support many of times. The fall of Burger King, Wendy's, and Hardee's is sad. Wendy's did it to themselves when they totally reinvented everything back in the late 2000's.
