Good for him and I get it. But if you are going to get 6 million with that fanbase, you better be prepared to be “the guy”. And I’m not convinced Milan has that in him.
It'll be a drag to see the draft board w/ Kentucky next to his name, and draft day announcement of "Milan Momcilovich, from Kentucky," won't be any direct mention of Iowa State.only bummer in this is when / if he gets drafted Kentucky gets the credit.
That’s a very mature attitude. Get out of here with that!Good luck Milan. Thanks for coming to ISU and giving us some great years.
Until the system changes, I think those types are done. All the high school AAU players now seeing the roadmap of "if you have any value, go get paid"Just sad with the recent departures knowing the great cyclone alumni he could have been... he seemed to like ISU, I was hoping he'd be like another Niang or Haliburton, help with recruiting come back to games, engage the fans as a fan and all that.
I suppose he still could be but it's not the same, he's a wildcat now not a cyclone![]()
I believe he’s still alive. The big question is will he be able to put up the numbers the late and great Hawkeye/Kentucky Wildcat CJ Fredrick did at UK.
This is where I'm at too. Milan was a great Cyclone, and was deadly last year when paired with an All-American power forward, but at least in his time here he didn't show a consistent ability to be a #1 option "get your own shot" type of scorer. If my team isn't among the few teams willing/able to pay $5m ($6m? $7m?) for a transfer like that, I'm okay with that! The meltdown when Tyrese Hunter left is not measuring up in this scenario. Sarcasm, but again if someone want to pay a 3pt shooter AJ Dybantsa money go ahead
I’m not sure Milan and his agent “demanded” $6M (or whatever it is). It’s the number the market bears, I guess. Doesn’t hurt that two of the schools he was talking to late in the process were Kentucky and Louisville. Those schools, fans and donors hate each other and both are trying to hang on the blue blood status.I don't blame him at all for taking the 6mil. He'd be a fool to not do it, but I'm not rooting for anybody at Kentucky. If one of our players demanded 6mil to play here (and we were in a position to pay that much) I'd have a hard time getting behind that player I think.
If he doesn't produce, I would think the hate would also come from those writing the checks. College athletics is all about the return on investment now.I’m not sure Milan and his agent “demanded” $6M (or whatever it is). It’s the number the market bears, I guess. He will get raked over the coals by Kentucky fans if he doesn’t produce like last year, but that kind of hate will be coming from people not writing the checks.
I think it's both. Tamin and JJ also could have gone elsewhere for more last year, but they showed some loyalty.Don't wish ill-will. It's a hate the system not the player kind of thing. However, my focus is on ISU.
Yeah, I was just talking in general about a player here or coming here wanting that much money.I’m not sure Milan and his agent “demanded” $6M (or whatever it is).
