That’s laughable. Their excuses for this kid are insulting even to myself, who is no more than an impartial observer.
I’d probably even root for him if he took his medicine, actually was contrite and got help, and worked his way to the NFL

I hate to ruin things on a website dedicated to a very special athletics program at a great university, but we only need to repeat the earlier, brilliant summary of the situation:

It is crazy to me that the NCAA doesn’t have any control over its own entity. Making rules doesn’t matter & won’t as long as a school or athlete can sue & overturn the rule
At this point they can just get rid of the NCAA. They are no longer worth anything. There are no rules anymore.
It's not the NCAA's fault. They have rules in place. The Courts aren't allowing the NCAA to enforce their rules.
If coaches had any balls they would tell someone like Sorsby "You gambled and broke the rules, so you are done". But it's win at all costs.
I guess I should start suing all the racing organizations I race under when I don't like a rules they have in place.
Yes, and expect him/his counsel to claim massive reputational damages due to the lifetime ban from the NCAA. Then point out (even though he likely wasn't going to be a successful NFL QB) his character was damaged goods to an NFL franchise. So, loss of college NIL and future salary consideration with damages...break the NCAA officially. Just like we broke the BCS, an ISU QB will break the NCAA for good...
